10. Enemy Multiplier

Kicking off our list is a mod that aims to make the game even more hectic and challenging!

As the name suggests, this mod multiplies the enemies you’ll encounter on Pandora, including many of the bosses.

When you download Enemy Multiplier, you can choose to multiply the number of enemies by 2,3 or 4 times.

The only enemies that it doesn’t impact are a few bosses, namely from DLC, though everyone else will be duplicated!

This makes for some seriously intense gunfights, and the only upside is that you’ll get multiplied ammo drops as well, which is great because you’ll need it!

Fortunately, Borderlands 2 is one of the best multiplayer games of all time, so you can always have some friends help you out with the extra enemies.

Enemy Multiplier definitely makes the game more challenging, and things can get hectic quickly when you’re trying to fight off 20 psychos!

9. Level 72 Character Game Saves

Now, this mod definitely isn’t for everyone, but it does have some useful applications that make it worth mentioning.

Having been downloaded half a million times, this mod contains save files for every Borderlands 2 character at level 72.

The current level cap is set to 80 with 8 OverPowered levels, but you will need to have the correct DLCs installed.

This definitely isn’t a mod we would recommend using during your first playthrough, especially since it skips all of the challenges while you reap the rewards.

However, it can be useful for players who don’t have time to grind every character up to level 72 and still want to experience leveled-out character builds.

For instance, if you know you’re never going to complete a playthrough as Zer0 but still want to see what he’s like maxed out, this mod can do that.

We definitely like this mod for that reason, as it gives you a good idea of what all classes are like maxed out, even if you can’t get them there yourself.

8. Borderlands 2 Tweaker

Like some of the best Fallout 3 mods, the Borderlands 2 Tweaker is all about changing certain settings that impact the game world.

What this mod does is read the game’s .ini files while allowing you to make changes to them without having to learn how to edit the full file yourself.

With this mod, you can enable the console to be able to enter commands, change the lighting, tweak shadow resolution, and turn off god rays.

You can also change how long it takes for corpses to despawn, which can help improve performance on some systems.

This mod also comes with a texture fade-in fix that corrects the slow texture loading times when a container is opened.

However, this can impact performance on low-end rigs, so keep that in mind before turning it on!

With this mod, you can also toggle the third-person perspective on and off using the hotkey, though it will automatically switch to first-person when fine aiming.

Running over people and driving recklessly is one of the most fun parts of BL2, though the vehicle options can be a bit limited.

While you’re not going to find the same amount of variety as in the best PS5 racing games, this mod still allows you to access a larger number of vehicles!

With this mod installed, you can now select between 4 vehicle types at any Catch-A-Ride terminal, including Technical, Runner, Sandskiff, and Fan Boat.

This gives you an overall choice of 11 different vehicles in total, which you can then use to mow down the inhabitants of Pandora!

Another great thing about this mod is that it allows you to go places with your vehicles that you normally couldn’t in the vanilla game.

More Vehicles also pairs well with the creator’s other mod, Loot Radar, which shows you where containers can be found on all of the maps.

Once you find a location you missed, you can hop in your new ride and speed off to go and grab yourself some well-deserved loot!

3. Borderlands 2 Exodus

If you’ve been playing BL2 since its release, then you probably know everything the game has to offer, making new playthroughs a bit less interesting.

However, Borderlands 2 Exodus changes things so that you can go into a new game not knowing what to expect!

This mod adds over 130 pieces of brand-new gear, new gameplay mechanics, new mini-bosses, and much more.

Vault Hunters have been rebalanced to be better at their classes, guns have been rebalanced, as has elemental damage, and shields have been improved.

Moreover, loot is now much more dynamic, with better unique drop chances and skill progression has been tweaked to accommodate the higher DLC level cap.

If you’ve downloaded one of the best mods for Skyrim, then you probably know how helpful unofficial patches can be.

Thankfully, one has been made for BL2, and it brings over 450 tweaks and fixes to many different aspects of the game!

It also majorly overhauls Maya and Gaige, along with revamping quests with random, tiered rewards.

What we also like about this mod is that it makes NVHM and TVHM modes more fast-paced, which really keeps you on your toes.

The goal of this mod is to make BL2 feel as if you’re experiencing it for the first time, and we have to say it does an extremely good job!

We really recommend giving this mod a try with a new character, as starting it in the middle of a playthrough really defeats its purpose.

BL2 Reborn is really the perfect mod for anyone who wants to make Borderlands 2 feel like a brand-new game!
