Get ready to play as V once again with our list of the 10 best Cyberpunk 2077 mods:
10. Alternate Crowd Behavior & Other Tweaks
Like the best GTA games of all time, the crowds in Cyberpunk can often be a bit lacking when it comes to their behaviors.
This mod fixes a lot of the problems with crowds by making them feel more dynamic and immersive while wandering the city.
Some of the changes that have been made include NPC despawn time, improved traffic, and improved AI for pedestrians.
Now, pedestrians will act less like robots going through the motions and more like interesting NPCs.
However, this mod can impact performance quite a bit, especially on older systems that may already tank FPS.
While it does greatly improve the behavior of crowds and traffic, we would recommend only downloading it if your system can handle it!
That said, it can definitely make Night City feel more alive, especially with NPC spawn reduced so people don’t magically disappear.
9. Let There Be Flight
In many games set in the future, such as the Mass Effect trilogy, flying cars are a staple that let players see cities from a bird’s eye view.
However, in Cyberpunk, players are restricted to driving on the street, which can leave a lot to be desired.
Especially since street driving comes with a lot of problems itself, which we’ll cover with the mod below!
Fortunately, the creator of this mod wasn’t going to let that stand and instead created a fully functional flying car system!
Let There Be Flight introduces a customizable flight system for every car in the game, allowing you to fly around to your heart’s content!
This mod also includes custom thruster models and animations for the cars, as well as immersive sound effects.
Really, we’re surprised that a game like Cyberpunk 2077 didn’t already have this feature available!
At least this mod exists to give us a taste of futuristic driving, and it fits perfectly into the world of Night City.
8. Better Vehicle Handling
Now that we’ve covered flying cars, let’s talk about a mod that covers the vehicles as they are in the game already.
This mod is dedicated to making driving around Night City a lot smoother and less like a janky version of Mario Kart.
While Better Vehicle Handling is still a work in progress, it already makes driving a lot less frustrating.
Essentially, this mod makes it so that all of the cars and motorcycles in the game perform better than they do in the vanilla version.
This means better handling, braking, and accelerating without needing to worry about losing control and careening into the nearest ditch.
Even though the mod is still being tweaked, the differences are night and day from the base game, and driving feels less like a chore now.
Although Elon Musk is still disappointed the game lacks self-driving cars, we definitely appreciate the changes this mod makes!
If you’re someone who spends a lot of time driving around Night City, you won’t want to miss out on Better Vehicle Handling!
7. Drone Companions
Drone Companions adds a whole new operating system known as the Tech Deck, which allows users to craft drones.
Like the best Skyrim follower mods, the drones from this mod will follow players around and help them in combat.
All drones can be created with common crafting materials, as well as the new Drone Module, which can appear at vendors and as loot.
Players can create their drones in the crafting menu using recipes picked up from weapon vendors.
One of the best things about this mod is that it also gives you the ability to create humanoid drones and even towering mechs!
These drones can even be made more effective using upgrades such as lasers or invisibility cloaking.
Best of all, there is a lot to customize when it comes to your drones, so you can really get creative with this mod!
With so many mechanized upgrades that players can get for themselves, this mod fits right into the lore of the game.
Plus, these drones can be incredibly useful when it comes to getting through some of the toughest fights!
6. Better Minimap
Cyberpunk 2077 has one of the biggest open world maps in video game history, but the minimap absolutely sucks.
Not only does it lack customization, but it can be confusing to use, making it hard to get around the map.
Fortunately, this mod improves the vanilla minimap to make it much better for navigating around Night City.
A few of the changes to the map you can make this mod include making it larger, making it transparent, and changing it to compass-only mode.
There are also numerous zoom-in and zoom-out options for when you are driving vehicles to make it easier to read.
However, this mod does sometimes conflict with mods that change the UI layout or HUD, so keep that in mind.
Some other known issues include flickering, though this can be fixed using a patch from the mods download page!
If you’re tired of getting lost in the city because the minimap has let you down again, we definitely recommend picking up this mod!
5. Arasaka Cyberarms
There are a lot of cybernetic enhancements that V can get throughout the game, and this mod adds even more!
Arasaka Cyberarms provides players with several new arm replacement options that look seriously badass.
This mod has everything from Iron Man-esque arms to cyberarms fitted with glowing blades in various colors.
In a world where enhancements are as much for style as they are for efficiency, this mod fits right in!
The only real downside of this mod is that there are so many different options available it’s hard to pick between them.
There are well over 1,000 files contained in this mod, so you will want to use Vortex when installing it to save yourself a lot of time.
However, once you have Arasaka Cyberarms installed in game, you will wonder how you ever managed to play without them.
This little extra level of customization really just helps take this game to a whole other level!
4. Judy Romance Enhanced
Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the best PS5 RPG games, but when it comes to romancing Judy, a lot of fans were left wanting more.
Without this mod, whenever you visit Judy after romancing her, she will be standing at her window doing absolutely nothing.
It’s almost like when you’re not there, she spends all day every day just sitting around waiting for your return.
Although we’re sure V appreciates the dedication, it does make Judy feel a bit lifeless and less like a living character in-game.
This mod changes things so that Judy will now, you know, actually appear to be living in her apartment.
She will now chill in her kitchen, eat, sleep, and shower instead of just staring dejectedly out of that damn window.
This mod also provides players with the ability to hug and kiss Judy to really make it seem like you’re in a meaningful relationship.
While other mods have added the option to hug Judy before, this is the only one that allows her to have some variety when you visit her.
It’s a relatively small game tweak overall, but one that all Judy lovers can certainly appreciate!
3. Cyberpunk Autonomous ReShade
Cyberpunk 2077 has some very impressive graphics, but they’re not quite at the level they were shown off at before launch.
This has upset fans quite a bit, as regardless of how impressive they are, the graphics still leave a bit to be desired.
Thankfully, this mod makes things look much better by simulating HDR, which adds more depth to colors and visual effects.
With this mod installed, Cyberpunk will look much more realistic, colorful, and crisp, especially when compared to the vanilla version.
Although it doesn’t touch up any graphics, this true HDR update certainly makes everything look less washed out.
It will be hard to go back to the vanilla game after seeing the impressive changes this reshader makes.
Best of all, it doesn’t impact the game’s performance at all, so you have nothing to worry about when downloading it!
2. Wannabe Edgerunner
Since the release of Cyberpunk Edgerunners, which was named Anime of the Year, Edgerunners mods have really taken off.
While there are a lot of mods based on Edgerunners that you can download, this is one that we’ve had the most fun with!
This is a relatively simple mod that adds a basic humanity cost system to your cyberware implants.
It does this by providing players with a new stat, Humanity, which is decreased with every permanent cyberware modification you have installed.
Humanity can also be decreased by killing or using Berserk and Sandevistan status effects, though it can be gained back by resting.
Players can track their current humanity levels using the Cyberware menu or the new widget that appears above the health bar.
There are a few ways that this impacts gameplay, starting out with minor “glitches” that will start happening after augmentations.
With many cyberware upgrades, players can even start experiencing cyberpsychosis, which has its own pros and cons.
Cyberpsychosis has a lot of visual glitches but buffs movement speed, armor, and health regeneration to make you more powerful.
Unfortunately, this can also trigger a police response if V isn’t in an interior or dangerous location.
Having to balance the cost of your humanity against cyberware upgrades certainly adds an interesting challenge to the game.
If you’re a fan of Edgerunners, you will definitely want to try this mod out for yourself!
1. Enhanced Police
While CD Projekt Red has stated that they’re working on a police overhaul, the modding community has already beaten them to it!
Taking our number one spot is a mod for everyone who is tired of the police being absolute garbage in the vanilla game.
With this mod, different types of police will start pursuing you depending on your threat level.
There are four different levels, each of which has its own criteria that determine what type of police will get involved.
At level one, you’ll have, at most, some Brennan Apollo off-road bikes pursuing you, and police cars will get involved at level two.
However, if you reach a four-star threat level, you’ll be pursued by Chevillon Emperors, which are heavy neo-military vehicles.
This mod also reworks how police vehicles spawn, making them further away based on your threat levels.
With this mod, you may actually start thinking twice before mowing down pedestrians while driving around Night City!
Summary
We hope you’ve enjoyed our list of the best Cyberpunk 2077 mods and found a few to add to your next playthrough!
