The 15 Best Spirit Ashes in Elden Ring (Ranked)
What are the best spirit ashes in Elden ring?
Spirit Ashes are special items that allow companions to be summoned to fight alongside the player.
They can be incredibly useful during tough boss battles, as you won’t be the sole target of their attacks.
However, some Spirit Ashes are better than others, so today we’re looking at the ones you absolutely can’t miss out on!
The 15 Best Spirit Ashes In Elden Ring
Each of these Spirit Ashes has been chosen based on their usefulness in various combat situations.
We will be covering everything you need to know about each one, including how you can find them yourself!
If you’re ready to make some spectral friends, here’s our list of the 15 best spirit ashes in Elden ring:
15. Raya Lucaria Soldier
Kicking off our list, we have the Raya Lucaria Soldier Spirit Ashes, which allows you to summon three soldiers.
This is a summon that a majority of players will use at one point or another because it has a perfect blend of ranged and melee attacks.
These summoned soldiers are also incredibly aggressive, meaning they are great for taking attention off of the caster.
Once these soldiers are summoned, players can hang back and unleash a ton of magic or ranged attacks without being in immediate danger.
To use this summon, you will have to be near a rebirth monument, and it will cost 59 FP and 1 HP.
The Raya Lucaria Soldier Ashes can be found inside the chest at the end of the Road’s End Catacombs.
While this means you can get them fairly early on, there are many fanged imps here, so be cautious!
That said, even offline, these soldiers make Elden Ring feel like one of the best multiplayer PS5 games since they are so useful!
14. Perfumer Tricia
Up next, we have a summon that, instead of attacking enemies, is used to support players and buff their skills.
Perfumer Tricia can be incredibly useful, as she can cast a shield over players that will negate 90% of an incoming attack.
She can do this several times during a fight while also increasing the player’s attack power by 10% for 40 seconds.
Because she can make players more powerful while protecting them from devastating damage, Tricia stands out as one of the best Spirit Ashes.
However, in order to get these Ashes, you will need to travel to the Unsightly Catacombs in Atlus Plateau.
Here, you will have to defeat Perfumer Tricia and the Misbegotten Warrior, two field bosses who can be incredibly difficult.
When these bosses are defeated, you will receive these Spirit Ashes, allowing you to summon Tricia to help you in battle.
13. Mausoleum Soldiers
These Spirit Ashes may summon five headless warriors, but their lack of heads doesn’t impact their ability to fight!
While it costs 75 FP to summon these Mausoleum Soldiers, they pack a punch that can help you take on even the strongest bosses.
If you’ve ever fought the Mausoleum Soldier enemies out in the world, you’ll know just how tough these soldiers can be!
To find these Spirit Ashes, you will need to locate a small dead tree on the edge of a cliff in the Deeproot Depths.
This location can be easily reached by heading north from the Nameless Eternal City Site of Grace until you reach the northernmost location.
Keep in mind that you will need to fight your way through some pretty tough enemies, so make sure to come prepared!
12. Bloodhound Knight Floh
Bloodhound Knight Floh stands out as the most aggressive summon in Elden Ring, and he is an absolute beast in battle.
Sic this knight on any of the hardest bosses in Elden Ring, and he will go to town while you hang back in the safe zone.
Unfortunately, due to his aggressiveness, it is likely he will be taken out quickly, especially against higher-level enemies.
That said, while he’s around, he can do quite a bit of damage and give you the opportunity to heal or line up some devastating shots.
While Floh acts similarly to Bloodhound bosses, he can also stagger enemies and cause blood loss to those susceptible to it.
To get this powerhouse for yourself, you’ll need to defeat Red Wolf of the Champion in Gelmir Hero’s Grave.
Once defeated, Red Wolf will drop these Spirit Ashes so that you can unleash them on anyone in your way!
11. Oracle Envoy
Out of all the best video games of all time, Elden Ring boasts some of the weirdest-looking characters.
This is very true when it comes to the Oracle Envoy Spirit Ashes, which resemble globulous lumps with melted faces.
However, don’t judge a book by its cover, because this summon can be very useful in many situations.
The Oracle Enboy Spirit Ashes summon four Oracle Envoy spirits, which are highly aggressive with solid ranged attacks.
While they require 72 FP to summon, they can be great for getting in extra damage against tough enemies.
Their main downside is that their ranged attacks are fairly slow, so they shouldn’t be used as main damage dealers.
Instead, they are best suited as a backup for melee users with high-strength builds who can deal the most damage.
These Spirit Ashes can be found near the Haligtree Town Site of Grace, across the eastern ladder, and through a few Giant Envoys.
10. Azula Beastman
Costing 102 FP, these Spirit Ashes allow players to summon two Azula Beatman spirits who can easily stagger a lot of enemies.
These Beastman spirits are towering, terrifying, and unapologetically aggressive, attacking enemies without stopping until they’re destroyed.
The biggest downside of this summon is that you won’t be able to get them until later in the game, limiting where they can be used.
However, once you have them, the Azula Beastman summon can be one of the most useful in the entire game.
To get these Spirit Ashes, you will need to head to the bottom of the Dragon Temple site in the Crumbling Farum Azula area.
Once there, you can venture to the furthest depths, where the Ashes can be found in the furthest sarcophagus.
Keep in mind there are three Banished Knights here, which could be tricky to fight if you’re not prepared.
9. Skeletal Militiaman
Skeletal Militiamen are often encountered while farming for Deathroot since Necromancers are usually guarding them.
Fortunately, these Spirit Ashes allow you to summon your own two Skeletal Militiamen to fight alongside you!
What makes this summon so great is that once they are defeated, they will resurrect after a short period of time.
While they aren’t the strongest in terms of doing damage, the fact that they keep coming back makes them incredibly useful.
Furthermore, using these Spirit Ashes only costs 44 FP, making it one of the most affordable in the game.
To get these Spirit Ashes in Elden Ring, you will need to defeat Tibia Mariner, a field boss found in Summonwater Village.
You will find this boss going back and forth on their boat, and once you’ve killed them, they will drop these Ashes, along with a Deathroot.
With these Ashes, you can really play Elden Ring as one of the best PS5 RPG games and live out your dreams of being a necromancer!
8. Banished Knight Oleg
Banished Knights are some of the toughest enemies in Elden Ring, and if they hit you, they hit like a truck!
Thankfully, these Spirit Ashes allow you to get one on your side, so your enemies can get a taste of their own medicine.
While summoning Banished Knight Oleg will cost 100 FP, he is incredibly nimble and has a powerful leap attack that can stagger enemies.
Oleg also boasts a better AI than the Banished Knights you face around the world, allowing him to be much more effective.
Unfortunately, because Oleg is such a powerful spirit summon, you’ll need to take out one of the toughest bosses to gain him.
To begin, head to the Fringefolk Hero’s Grave by using 2 Stonesword Keys on the Imp Keystone next to the Stranded Graveyard Site of Grace.
This will take you to a mini-dungeon filled with ghosts and traps you will need to defeat and avoid.
At the end, you will run into an Ulcerated Tree Spirit boss, which will drop these Spirit Ashes and a Golden Seed when defeated.
7. Lone Wolf
This is likely one of the first ashes you receive in Elden Ring, and unfortunately, it is often replaced too soon by players.
However, the Lone Wolf Ashes actually have the potential to be one of the best summons in the game if you upgrade them accordingly.
Not only do these Ashes only cost 55 FP to use, but they summon a pack of 3 wolves that each has independent life bars.
All of the wolves will act as a team, and they all have a decent enough amount of HP to stay alive for quite a while.
Furthermore, these good boys move very quickly in combat, allowing them to deal a lot of damage while not getting hit.
These Ashes are given to the player by Ranni, under the guise of Renna, at the Church of Elleh in Limgrave.
If you’ve missed this opportunity for any reason, the Spirit Calling Bell and the Ashes can be purchased from the Twin Maiden Husks in Roundtable Hold.
Like the best dog Pokémon, these good boys shouldn’t be written off because they can remain helpful throughout the entire game!
6. Radahn Soldiers
This summon, which costs 71 FP, conjures two Radahn Soldiers, complete with shields and fire-based weapons.
These guys are some of the best Spirit Ashes in Elden Ring to use against bosses, as they have a very high defense.
During boss fights, the Radahn Soldiers can often last longer than many other Spirit Ashes and provide more assistance.
Unfortunately, when used outside of a boss arena, these soldiers tend to wander off, constantly in search of new targets.
While this can be a bit irritating, in a tough fight, they can certainly help keep you alive by taking a lot of the heat.
To get these Spirit Ashes, you will need to venture to the War-Dead Catacombs, located on the northern tip of Radahn’s Arena.
You’ll need to head up the stairs to the first room and take a left once you reach the end and enter the hallway.
When you get to the archer, turn right and then right again at the greatsword knight further down.
You can then jump through the window near the end of the hall and take another flight of stairs to a room with a Knight.
These Ashes will be inside that room, though you will have to defeat the knight in order to get them.
5. Dung Eater Puppet
Despite its foul name and an appearance that makes the ugliest Pokémon of all time look cute, Dung Eater is very powerful.
This summon costs 118 FP to cast, but in combat, he will use a powerful greatsword that inflicts a bleed effect on enemies.
Dung Eater also has ranged attacks that allow him to send out wraiths toward foes, making him effective at a distance.
However, this summon is incredibly difficult to get, and you’ll need to do things in a particular order.
Starting off, you’ll need to meet Ranni at Ranni’s Rise, but don’t progress further in her questline.
If you do, you won’t be able to get this summon, and trust us, you don’t want to miss out on it!
Once you meet Ranni, speak with Seluvis in his town and get Seluvis’ potion and start progressing through Dung Eater’s questline.
When Dung Eater gets to the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds, you’ll need to give him the potion.
You can then enter Seluvis’ secret lab to chat with him, after which he will give you the option to buy the Dung Eater Puppet for 5 Starlight Shards.
It will take a lot of work, but it is definitely worth it for one of the most powerful Spirit Summons in the game!
4. Nightmaiden & Swordstress Puppets
Costing 97 FP to use, the Nightmaiden and Swordstress Puppets are a devastating pair with lightning-fast attacks.
Although they don’t have a lot of health starting off, they are quick enough to avoid many of the attacks that come their way.
When they reach +10, these two are seriously nearly unstoppable, and when they tag team enemies, it’s a thing of beauty.
They are also capable of stun-locking enemies, making them easy for players to swoop in and finish them off.
That said, getting this summon is easier said than done, as you will need to fight a Night Maiden and a Nox Swordstress in the flesh.
If you’re prepared, you can head to Noksella, Eternal City, and head up the main stairs to Fight the Night Maiden.
In the room to the left, you will then have to fight the Nox Swordstress before heading around the building to the left.
After finding a chest, head right and go around the building on the left again, where you’ll need to use a Stonesword key to access a room.
Inside this room will be two Nox Monks along with a chest containing the Nightmaiden and Swordstress Puppets Ashes.
3. Lhutel The Headless
Lhutel the Headless is a legendary spirit, and summoning her requires 104 FP, but she is remarkably powerful!
Not only does Lhutel have high defense, but she can unleash powerful ranged attacks and teleport around the battlefield.
If you invest in leveling up this summon, Lhutel can easily tank for players while dealing a load of damage.
The biggest downside to her is that her teleporting ability sometimes makes it difficult for her to draw aggression.
This is because enemies will lose interest when she moves, causing them to turn their attention back to you.
However, the spectral lances she throws at enemies are no joke, and she can stand up to even the toughest bosses.
To get Lhutel the Headless Ashes, head to the Tombsward Catacombs in the Weeping Peninsula.
Here, these ashes will be dropped by the Cemetery Shade boss after you defeat them and take their stuff.
2. Black Knife Tiche
There is no denying that the Black Knife Tiche Ashes are powerful, so much so that some players even think she is overpowered.
Using her is like using one of the best Elden Ring mods to make the game a little bit easier, especially boss fights.
This Spirit Ash summon requires 132 FP, but she boasts a black knife imbued with the Rune of Death.
Her attacks will deal damage over time to enemies, and she can often even out damage the player in some fights.
While she does perform best against single enemies, she can also help draw attention away from the player during group fights.
If you use her during boss fights, she can be incredibly helpful, so much so that it’s like using easy mode.
To get these Ashes, you will need to travel to the Ringleader’s Evergaol in southwestern Liurnia and defeat Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader.
Alecto is a tough fight, but it is well worth the struggle to be able to gain this incredibly powerful summon!
1. Mimic Tear
Taking our number one spot as the best Spirit Ashes in Elden Ring, we have the Mimic Tear.
Requiring 660 HP to use, this summon is unique in that it creates an exact copy of the player.
This includes the player’s weapons, armor, spells, incantations, and talismans, essentially making this summon incredibly powerful.
It also comes with an unlimited supply of ranged ammunition, and it will increase its stats as the player levels up.
This summon can make boss fights much easier, as you will essentially have a double of yourself to fight alongside.
Basically, this summon is endlessly powerful as it grows stronger at the same rate that you do.
To find these Ashes, you will need to head to Night’s Sacred Ground and open the Imp Statue door, behind which is a chest with this summon.
If you want the most powerful Spirit Ashes in the game, look no further than the Mimic Tear!
