Well, we’re going to get straight to the point with what we think are the best Minecraft mods in 2020.
From adding rope bridges to speeding up the overall performance of the game, you’ll find all the mods you need to enjoy Minecraft to its fullest.

The 30 Best Minecraft Mods
These are the 30 best Minecraft Mods:
30. Rope Bridge
If you find yourself getting easily annoyed with climbing up and down mountains, then you’re going to love this Minecraft 1.11.2 mod.
Rope Bridge allows you to easily create bridges between mountains and long chasms, as many times as you want.
It’s a great way to avoid enemies and only requires a grappling hook, assembled with three different parts, enough materials in your inventory and this mod.
Then, all you have to do is fire away and you’ll be walking across a rope bridge in no time.
29. Advanced Rocketry
The next Minecraft mod is Advanced Rocketry.
This mod is all about exploration and checking out what other planets have to offer.

The sky is “not” the limit if you install this mod!
If you’ve got a bit of a sweet tooth, then this is the mod for you!

If you’re an animal fan then the LotsOMobs mod is for you.

If thats not cool enough for you then many of the mobs also come with unique drops, which can be used to create lots of interesting recipes.

To really get the most bang for your buck, you’ll want to make sure that you’re utilising the best visuals possible.
That’s exactly what this mod does, it significantly improves all the visuals in Minecraft and makes everything look a lot sharper.
This is an absolute must-have texture mod!
24. Smart Moving
Moving just became a whole lot easier!
Everyone knows that moving around in Minecraft can feel a bit slow and stagnant. Well, not anymore.
Smart Moving makes the game feel more fluid and closer to real-life movement. Flying is probably the most notable difference, as you’ll take on a more “Superman” -like position.
This is one of the coolest mods in Minecraft by far.
23. Animal Bikes
The Animal Bikes mod allows you to create any animal of your choice and ride it around the map like a bike.
This mod allows you the chance to craft a saddle, which was previously un-craftable.
It’s particularly useful if you want to travel around large areas, but, in general, it’s just really cool and a whole lot of fun.
22. Instant Lake
This Minecraft mod does exactly what it says on the tin, builds instant lakes.
Well technically, it allows you to fill empty spaces with any type of liquid, like lava or water, as many times as you want.
And once you’re finished filling holes and creating lakes, you can sit back and enjoy your creations.
If you’re looking for a new adventure, or you’re just bored of your world, then Mystcraft has got your back.

The mod also comes with a ton of new food choices, so you won’t get bored of the same thing any time soon.
19. Biomes O’Plenty
Biomes O’Plenty adds in a lot more diversity to the Minecraft world.

16. Dungeon Pack
Are Dungeon Crawlers your thing? Well, you’ll love this!
The Dungeon Pack Mod adds dungeons to the Minecraft world, which allow you to crawl around them until your heart’s content.
That’s about it for this mod, so if dungeons are your thing then fill your boots!
15. Fossils And Archeology Revival
The Fossils And Archeology Revival mod allows players to add in extinct creatures, fossils, eggs, blocks, DNA and lab equipment.
It’s similar to the Jurassicraft mod but requires you to find and collect fossils from fossil blocks, and analyze them.
If the fossil is deemed to have Dino DNA, then you’ll be able to create whatever dinosaur egg the DNA came from.
This is definitely a mod for anyone that’s into prehistoric animals.
The Botania mod adds in a variety of new flowers to the Minecraft world, prettying things up a bit.
However, that’s not all it does, as it also adds some new powers, which you can use to make new weapons, and tools.
By installing this mod and growing flowers yourself, you’ll be able to heal faster, use them to feed your animals and enhance your overall Minecraft experience.
13. Bacteria Mod
Like it says on the tin, the Bacteria mod introduces Bacteria to the Minecraft world.
You’re able to prepare the bacteria yourself, by doing some basic gardening, and when they’re ready, you can just dig them out.
Once the bacteria is released, it can either be really good for you or have a negative effect.
So, it’s up to you to handle the bacteria well in order to reap the most rewards.
It’s time to upgrade your place and bring in some new furniture.
The Decocraft mod adds in a ton of new props, and, allows you to craft anything from furniture to silverware. Chairs, lamps, tables, torches and silverware are all a possibility with this mod.

10. Instant Massive Structures
Another mod that does what it says on the tin, is Instant Massive Structures.

Anything from a quick get-a-way tower to a massive farm, you can do it all with this mod.
9. Here’s What You’re Looking At (HWYLA)
HWYLA is the new and updated version of What Am I Looking At, which is no longer being updated.

It comes in handy when exploring a new mod-pack, or, if you’re continuously wondering what that block you’ve never seen before actually is!
8. Twilight Forest
If you’re looking to explore a new realm, then Twilight Forest is defiantly one you should consider.

If that’s not enough, there’s also some new mobs like flying pigs, new block types and new bosses to defeat.
6. Inventory Tweaks
Perhaps the best mod for organisation and simplicity, Inventory Tweaks allows you to automatically replace tools when they break and sort your chests with one simple click.
However, be a bit cautious when using this as automatic tool repair, as it quickly becomes the norm, so if you delete the mod you’ll miss it for sure.
5. The Lost Cities
By choosing to use this mod, you’re opening up all the unexplored areas inside of a ghost town city.
You’re able to roam around new parts of lost cities and explore, exploit, build and tamper with whatever you want.
However, in this post-apocalyptic city, there’s not much else to see, so your main goal is to stay alive, and not succumb to death by boredom!
There’s tons to explore and a lot to fight against.
The fourth best Minecraft mod is Millénaire.
This mod adds in additional new content into areas that would normally be unoccupied or barren.
Human men, woman and children are added and replace the bog-standard villagers. Even the villages themselves get a fresh new look.

If you’re wanting to find out which block to create next and just how many blocks there are, then this is the mod you’ll want to install.
Not Enough Items, or NEI, allows you to get a list of all the blocks that are available to create and all the ingredients required to make them.
This is an awesome mod because it saves a ton of time and makes things simple, which is why it’s the third-best Minecraft mod on our list.
2. Journey Map
If you like to know where you’re going before you get there, or at least have some idea of what’s ahead, then Journey Map is the mod for you.
Simply put, Journey Map allows you to see the route where you’re heading, allowing you to make decisions on which way to go and how far you need to travel.
It keeps things simple and also lets you make a note of where your favourite places are and gives you a heads up on the location of your enemies.
The best Minecraft mod, and one of the first ones you’ll want to install, is Optifine/Fastcraft.
This mod significantly improves the performance of Minecraft on lower-end machines whilst also improving the visual aesthetics.
It does this by adding in HD texture and smooth lighting. Framerate doubling is also something that has been reported to happen when installing this mod.
Optifine/Fastcraft will significantly improve the performance of Minecraft on your machine, especially if you’re already running a number of other Minecraft mods.
