The Best Elden Ring Staves

What are the best staffs in Elden Ring?

If you’re looking for the most powerful staffs in Elden Ring, you’ve come to the right place!

Choosing the right weapon is one of the most important parts of this game, given its difficulty, so we’re here to make it a bit easier.

Today, we’re looking at the best staffs you can find in Elden Ring and telling you exactly how you can find them!

The 10 Best Staffs In Elden Ring

These staffs have been chosen based on their abilities, damage, and overall usefulness throughout the game.

While not all of these staffs will work for every character, depending on character build, we’ve made sure to try and add something for everyone!

If you’re ready to find your next favorite weapons, keep reading our list of the 10 best staffs in Elden Ring:

10. Gelmir Glintstone Staff

Best Elden Ring Staves Gelmir Glintstone Staff

Kicking off our list, we have the Gelmir Glintstone staff, a lesser-known weapon that has the potential to be incredibly powerful.

This staff boosts volcanic sorcery and has the best scaling for character builds focused on intelligence and faith.

The Gelmir Glintstone staff has a physical attack of 29, and it requires 6 strength, 14 intelligence, and 14 faith to wield.

That said, the reason why this weapon isn’t well-known is that it can be fairly difficult to get, especially for low-level characters.

If you want to get this staff, you will have to defeat the inflated Man-Serpent in the Volcano Manor on top of Mt. Gelmir.

You can find this enemy near the throne and right before getting to Rykard’s teleporter at the end of the area.

However, this isn’t the only enemy in the area you will have to worry about, and getting to the throne can be a tough fight.

While this is a fantastic staff, unless you really want it for your character build, we would recommend considering other options first.

9. Academy Glintstone Staff

Best Elden Ring Staves Academy Glintstone Staff

Elden Ring is one of the best PS5 RPG games largely because there are so many customization options for characters.

The Academy Glintstone staff is one of those options, and it is among one of the best weapons in the game.

While it isn’t likely to be anyone’s main weapon, it deals a significant amount of damage between 41 and 68 intelligence.

To wield it, you will need a strength of 6 and an intelligence of 28, making it perfect for players specializing in magic.

This staff can easily get you through the mid-game, even if you are only using it as a backup or secondary weapon.

However, the Academy Glintstone staff can’t just be picked up off a course; instead, you will need to do a bit of work.

While you can get this staff by killing the Glintstone Sorcerers at the Academy of Raya Lucaria, you can also receive it by completing Thops’ quest.

Of course, you could always just kill Trops at the Church of Irith and get this staff, but then you will miss out on his quests.

8. Demi-Human Queen’s Staff

Best Elden Ring Staves Demi Human Queens Staff

As one of the best games like Skyrim, in Elden Ring, you don’t have to be 100% committed to magic in order to benefit from it!

For players who are giving sorcery a test drive, the Demi-Human Queen’s staff is perfect, and it can be extremely flexible.

Requiring only a strength of 6 and an intelligence of 10, this staff works great for players not planning on going above an intelligence of 40.

High-strength characters who focus on melee can especially benefit from this staff, using it to hit hard-to-reach enemies.

Although the Meteorite staff is arguably better in the early game, for low-intelligence characters later on, this staff is amazing.

To get this staff for yourself, you will need to kill the Demi-Human Queen, who can be found in the Demi-Human Forest Ruins along the Weeping Peninsula.

7. Meteorite Staff

Best Elden Ring Staves Meteorite Staff

Speaking of the Meteorite staff, it’s up next, and it is one that characters can get incredibly early in the game.

While it is unique in the fact that it can’t be upgraded, as an early game staff, it is one of the most powerful.

The Meteorite staff requires a 6 strength and 18 intelligence to wield, and it boosts gravity sorceries when used.

Seeing as the rock sling spell can be incredibly useful early on, it’s nice to have it made even better by this staff.

Although it does start to become fairly weak by level 50, it doesn’t completely lose its usefulness, especially if you use gravity sorceries.

If you’re planning on building your character around this type of magic, then keeping this staff on hand can be a good idea.

To get this staff, you will need to go through the Street of the Sages Ruins in the northeast Aeonia Swamp.

The staff will be located in the southwestern building on a corpse by the ledge in a small room with a rune.

6. Carian Glintstone Staff

Best Elden Ring Staves Carian Glintstone Staff

When fighting the hardest bosses in Elden Ring, sword sorceries can be incredibly useful, and this staff gives them a boost!

This staff provides a 15% boost to sword sorceries, essentially any spell that makes a sword appear at the end of a staff.

However, this boast doesn’t extend to the Glintstone sorceries that create floating swords, so keep that in mind.

That said, the Carian Glintblade staff makes it easiest to deal a lot of damage while up close and personal with foes.

If you’re a magic user who doesn’t just want to hang back on the sidelines and rely on summons, this is the staff for you!

To wield this staff, you need 6 strength, 8 dexterity, and 24 intelligence, which is reasonable for such a powerful weapon.

The Carian Glintblade staff can be found on a corpse right before the second elevator in the Carian Study Hall in Liurnia of the Lakes.

5. Prince of Death’s Staff

Best Elden Ring Staves Prince of Deaths Staff

The Prince of Death’s staff in Elden Ring is tailored for players who are focused on intelligence and faith stats.

Starting off, the Prince of Death’s staff requires 6 strength, 18 intelligence, and 18 faith to wield.

As the name may suggest, this staff gives a boost to death sorceries such as explosive ghostflame and ancient death rancor.

While this staff isn’t terribly impressive from the get-go, if you’re looking to get your faith and intelligence to level 80, it can be the best option in the game.

However, most players won’t invest enough in these stats for this staff to really shine, though it is worth keeping in mind.

This is especially true if you are planning to create a character build focused on these strengths and centered around using this staff.

Building a character around using this staff can be incredibly fun, and we would definitely recommend trying it out for yourself!

To get this staff, head east from the Nameless Eternal City Site of Grace and take the root ramp to the rooftops.

At the first intersection, drop down on the left and continue making your way up, where a branch will bring you to the top of a tower.

It is in this tower that you will find the Prince of Death’s staff just waiting for you to claim it!

4. Staff Of Loss

Best Elden Ring Staves Staff of Loss

While not the flashiest thing to look at while playing one of the best third-person PS5 games, the Staff of Loss packs a lot of power.

This staff requires 6 strength, 12 dexterity, and 14 intelligence to wield, and it comes with a very unique perk.

Unlike many of the other staffs on our list, the Staff of Loss doesn’t excel in terms of base spell scaling.

Instead, this staff shines by boosting invisibility sorceries, specifically night comet and night shard.

While this may not seem incredibly useful, as it turns out, these two spells are the ones that NPCs are absolutely incapable of dodging.

Even the toughest, most annoying bosses in the game can be easily hit with spells boosted by this staff!

This staff is even more impressive when dual-wielded in New Game+, as they will boost invisibility sorcery by 60% instead of just 30%.

To get this staff, you will need to locate the dead body on the rooftop inside the Town of Sorcery in Sellia.

3. Azur’s Glintstone Staff

Best Elden Ring Staves Azurs Glintstone Staff

Once belonging to the sorcerer Azur, this staff is one of the most unique weapons in Elden Ring.

While it isn’t the most powerful staff, it does have a powerful benefit that makes it worth grabbing if you can.

Azur’s Glintstone staff reduces the casting time of sorceries and incantations by 8% while also boosting casting costs by 20%.

Now, this may not sound great, but hear us out because there is a neat trick you can perform with this staff.

You see, if you hold this staff in your off-hand, you can take advantage of all its buffs but not its debuffs.

This means you can reduce your casting time without having to increase the cost, which can be a great benefit.

That said, this staff does have some steep wielding requirements, including 10 strength and 52 intelligence.

However, if you meet these, Azur’s Glintstone staff can be found at the Raya Lucaria Academy, though you will need to defeat a few enemies.

You will have to fight two Lazuli sorcerers, a Glintstone sorcerer, and the High Page, who is found next to this staff.

2. Carian Regal Scepter

Best Elden Ring Staves Carian Regal Scepter

Since Elden Ring is one of the best multiplayer PS5 games, you’ll want to show off your best gear to your friends.

If you have incredibly high intelligence, the best weapon to show off is the Carian Regal Scepter.

With high intelligence, this staff is capable of dealing more damage than any other staff in Elden Ring.

Additionally, this staff boosts full moon sorceries and comes with a unique Ash of War, which is a nice bonus.

This staff is certainly geared toward high-intelligence players, though, as it requires 8 strength, 10 dexterity, and 60 intelligence to wield.

However, you can gain the Carian Regal Scepter fairly early in the game by defeating Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon.

She can be found in the Academy of Raya Lucaria, but she isn’t a pushover, so you will need to prepare before facing her.

Once defeated, you can take the Remembrance of the Full Moon Queen to Enia at the Roundtable Hold.

Enia will then give you this scepter or Rennala’s Full Moon, a sorcery projectile spell that reduces enemy magic negation.

This staff is definitely better than the spell, so we highly recommend choosing it over the sorcery.

1. Lusat’s Glintstone Staff

Best Elden Ring Staves Lusats Glintstone Staff

Taking our number one spot as the best staff in Elden Ring is Lusat’s Glintstone staff, and it is seriously powerful.

While it requires 10 strength and 52 intelligence to wield, this staff can easily get magic users through until the end.

Unfortunately, this staff is also practically unusable by players with flexible builds because of its high intelligence requirement.

That said, players who specialize specifically in magic will find Lusat’s Glintstone staff particularly invaluable.

If you are purely investing in intelligence for damage, this staff can easily outpace all others in terms of overall damage output.

However, like Azur’s Gintstone staff, this one does increase the cost of casting, this time by a huge 50%.

The trade-off is that it deals substantially more damage, and for players with a lot of FP, this is a worthwhile investment.

Additionally, you can always use the Cerulean Hidden Tear to eliminate all FP consumption for 15 seconds, effectively negating the debuff of this staff.

Summary

We hope you’ve enjoyed our list of the 10 best staffs in Elden Ring and hopefully found some new ones to grab for yourself.

While all of these staffs are extremely powerful, the one that’s best for you will depend on your character build.

Of course, you can always start a new character built specifically to use one of these staffs, which is also incredibly fun!
