The 10 Best Greedfall Mods
What are the best GreedFall mods?
GreedFall is a fantastic game, and its branching narrative gives players a lot of different options to experience.
However, like any other game, the modding community has found ways to make GreedFall even better!
Today, we’re taking a look at the best mods you can download for GreedFall to improve your next playthrough!
The 10 Best GreedFall Mods
There are a lot of mods for GreedFall, but not all of them are worth rushing over to the Nexus to download.
To make this list, we rounded up mods with the most endorsements and significant gameplay enhancements.
So, if you’re ready to overhaul your next playthrough, here’s our list of the 10 best GreedFall mods:
10. Romance Hints
Kicking off our list, we have a mod that makes romancing characters a lot more straightforward in terms of dialogue.
In GreedFall, it is incredibly easy to lock yourself out of a romance just by picking the wrong dialogue option during a key moment.
This can be incredibly frustrating, especially if you don’t realize what you’ve done until it’s too late to reload.
Trust us, there is nothing worse than missing out on your chosen romance just because you put your foot in your mouth at the wrong time!
Fortunately, mod creator Shaiandra has created the Romance Hints mod, which adds icons to relevant dialogue options.
Similar to how the best games like Dragon Age flag options with hearts to signify a romantic choice, this mod adds a simple heart icon to the text box.
Now, you can know exactly what dialogue options to choose with the character you want to romance, so you don’t end up missing out!
Romance Hints has definitely helped us out, and we certainly don’t plan on ever playing without it again!
9. Quick Loot
Nothing slows down a game like having to constantly stop and loot all of the people you killed after a battle. It’s just so tedious!
Well, this mod helps to speed things up by allowing you to always loot items from chests and corpses without the UI getting in the way.
With this mod installed, all items will automatically be picked up without the window opening to ask what you want.
The Quick Loot mod also comes with an optional function that allows you to loot an entire area by using your lamp.
All you have to do is take out your land and turning it on will now cause you to automatically receive all of the loot from surrounding corpses.
Although this isn’t exactly immersive, it does make moving on after a battle a lot faster, and it overall just simplifies gameplay.
It also works well with the More Carry Weight mod that we cover further down, especially if you’re planning on picking up all the loot around you!
8. Minimalist HUD Mod
If you’re someone who likes to have your HUD take up as little space as possible, this is the mod for you.
With this mod installed, the XP bar, level number, and skill point info will be removed so that they aren’t constantly taking up space on your screen.
The compass has also been revamped to be much less intrusive so that when you walk around, you barely notice it unless you need it.
We enjoy using this mod because it makes it a lot easier to get immersed in the game without being constantly exposed to too much info.
This is definitely something we hope to see in GreedFall 2: The Dying World as a standard mechanic because less is definitely more in this case!
Sometimes it’s just nice to be able to see more of the world around you in the game without all of the management icons getting in the way.
The Minimalist HUD mod also works with the Better Compass Mod, which we cover further down.
These two mods together definitely make navigating through the game a lot better, and they’ve certainly become permanent additions to our load order!
7. No Equipment Requirements
While many of the best PS4 RPGs limit the equipment players can use based on skills, sometimes that’s just not very fun during a replay!
GreedFall has a similar mechanic that makes it, so characters can wear certain armor or wield certain weapons if they don’t meet specific requirements.
However, this mod, as the name suggests, removes the requirements so that you can use absolutely everything you come across!
Now, we definitely don’t recommend using this mod during your first playthrough, but it does make replaying the game a lot more interesting.
With this mod, you can create some seriously powerful characters or just mix and match equipment that you otherwise hadn’t gotten to try out!
Sure, it’s totally cheating, but it is a lot of fun, especially once you’ve beaten the game a time or two and want to mess around.
The No Equipment Requirements mod is just a great way to give yourself a lot more freedom while playing, and we absolutely love it!
6. Better Compass
There are a lot of quests and things to explore in GreedFall, but the compass doesn’t exactly help you out when it comes to finding them.
Well, as you can tell from the name, this mod improves the vanilla compass to make it much more helpful.
With this mod installed, you can see your active and inactive quests all on your compass at the same time.
You can also switch between them whenever you want without having to open the Quest Log or your map.
Moreover, the Better Compass mod also increased the vanilla discovery range from 80 meters to 180 meters.
This means you can see quest markers and places of interest from much further away, which is a huge help.
It also adds markers for stairs and the arena, which previously weren’t included with the vanilla compass.
Best of all, this mod is completely compatible with the Minimalist HUD mod, so you won’t have to pick one over the other!
5. OMG XP
This is definitely one of the most cheaty mods on our list, but it is definitely fun to play around with!
Now, when playing any of the best fantasy RPGs, earning XP is essential for being able to level up and become more powerful.
The same is true in GreedFall, but sometimes you just want to speed up the process a bit, especially when replaying the game!
Well, this mod makes leveling up super easy by adding a bonus XP modifier of 50, meaning you’ll start leveling up super fast.
Of course, there is also a version of this mod that only adds a modifier of 5 if you want to feel like you’re cheating a little bit less.
You can also edit the mod’s file directly and change the value of the modifier to whatever you want if you’re familiar with editing files.
However, we’ve found that the 50x modifier is more than enough, and you can easily end up going up multiple levels from a single fight!
4. More Talents On Capes
There are a number of capes in GreedFall that have unique talents that can give your character a boost.
What this mod does is add more talent options to the game, which allows you to customize your character in ways you never could before.
There are three versions of this mod: the lore-friendly version, the better capes version, and the cheat version.
The lore-friendly version adds specific talents to each faction’s capes, while the better capes version does the same but with more talents.
Meanwhile, the cheat version adds all talents to every cape so that you can be the most powerful character ever!
This mod also has compatibility versions for No Equipment Restrictions and the Slots For Every Weapon mod, so you won’t have issues.
The More Talents On Capes mod is definitely great to use on a replay, and we’ve certainly enjoyed being completely OP!
3. Camera Overhaul
The Camera Overhaul mod by Shawnikaros is a fantastic mod, and it definitely makes the game a lot more enjoyable.
What this mod does is increase the max multiplier of the FOV from 1.5 to 2.0 so that you can see a lot more of the world.
It also removes the camera bob and the shaking effects that occur during combat and get old really fast.
Additionally, most FOV changes have been normalized, while the auto center on controllers has been disabled.
What we love most about this mod is the removal of shaking and bobbing, which can honestly be nauseating after a long play session.
More of the best PS5 RPGs need to get rid of these effects in our option, but thankfully there’s a mod for it in GreedFall!
Even if the motion effects don’t irritate you, having a better FOV is certainly appreciated.
Plus, it really helps you see more of what’s going on around you, which is really helpful in battle!
2. Increase Party Size
Have you ever wanted to have more of your companions following you around? Well then, this mod is for you!
As the name suggests, this mod makes it, so you can bring along all of your followers if you wish, which is hilarious and helpful!
Best of all, they won’t just waddle behind you quietly either, as if they’ve just been shoehorned in without a purpose.
Instead, this mod allows all of your party members to be able to take part in conversations and events.
This way, you won’t be missing out on any important dialogue just by having your whole crew on your side.
Additionally, if you want more of a challenge, this mod also allows you to go it alone and bring no one with you!
To use this mod, all you have to do is talk to your companion and choose the “Mod Change Party Size” option.
You can then choose who you want to add or who you want to dismiss from your party whenever you want!
What’s more is that there are two versions of this mod, one for the base game only and one that includes DLC.
So, even if you don’t have the DLC, you can still make use of this mod without running into any problems.
1. More Carry Weight
Taking our number one spot is a mod that pairs well with Quick Loot, as it ensures you’ll always have room to pick up more stuff!
Let’s face it, whether you’re playing the best games like Skyrim or an unrelated RPG, it’s easy to turn into a hoarder by the mid-game.
The same is true in GreedFall since there is no shortage of loot to pick up while you’re progressing through the game and exploring.
While your carry capacity gradually increases in the vanilla game, this mod allows you to take matters into your own hands.
Now you can choose to give yourself an additional 500, 1000, or 5000 extra carry weight depending on just how much you want to lug around.
If you’re tired of having to leave good loot behind, do yourself a favor and download the More Carry Weight mod and embrace your inner hoarder!
