The 10 Best Resident Evil Village Mods
What are the best Resident Evil Village mods?
Resident Evil is one of the most popular horror game franchises, and Village has quickly become a fan favorite.
Whether you’re playing for the plot or the vampire woman, there is a lot to love about Village, and mods make it even better!
Although there are a ton of mods for Resident Evil Village, we’ve rounded up the ones that are the most fun to play with!
The 10 Best Resident Evil Village Mods
To create this list, we selected mods based on their number of endorsements as well as how much fun they add to the game.
We wanted to add a little something for everyone, so expect to find everything from realistic mods to ones that are absolutely absurd!
If you’re ready to face Lady Dimitrescu once again, here’s our list of the 10 best Resident Evil Village mods:
10. Lady Wong
Kicking off our list is a mod that we find absolutely hilarious, and you won’t be able to stop laughing after installing it.
Given Lady Dimitrescu’s massive popularity, you know that there are a ton of mods revolving around her. (Some are more family-friendly than others.)
Well, this one does something unexpected. It replaces Lady Dimitrescu’s head with Ada Wong’s, and the results will have you doubled over.
There is just something ridiculously funny about being chased around by an 8-foot Ada Wong, and it definitely takes the scare factor away.
This mod is not for those who want a serious playthrough, but if you just want to have fun, it is one of the best you can download.
Of course, if you want to make things truly absurd, there is also the Count Theodora mod which replaces Lady Dimitrescu’s head with Thomas the Tank Engine.
No, you didn’t just have a stroke; you read that right. Modders have managed to put Thomas the Tank Engine into this game, and it is glorious.
9. Baby Over Chris Face
Resident Evil Village may be one of the best PS5 horror mods, but that won’t stop modders from creating some truly laughable mods.
What this mod does is replace Chris Redfield’s head with the head of baby Rosemary, complete with facial animations.
This mod is both the best and most disturbing thing we’ve ever seen, and we absolutely love it.
Not only does it just look weird as hell, but the facial expressions are amazing. And by amazing, we mean hilarious.
While the Lady Wong and Count Theodora mods will make you laugh, this one is so absurd you’ll never want to uninstall it.
This mod pairs well with the Mini Me Chris mod, which we cover below, that puts Chris’s head on baby Rose’s body.
It’s all absolutely ridiculous, but we love it, and we highly recommend these mods if you’re in need of a good laugh!
8. Fluffy Mod Manager
Created by modder FluffyQuack — which is an amazing name — the Fluffy Mod Manager is a must-have if you’re going to be downloading any mods for Resident Evil Village.
Whether you’re downloading the best Red Dead Redemption 2 mods or mods for Borderlands 3, mod managers are insanely helpful.
This is especially true for those new to modding who may not know how to manually install mods safely without screwing up the game.
What the Fluffy Manager does is install any mod you download automatically without you having to manually do any of the work.
It also can uninstall mods, filter your load order, and activate or deactivate any mods with only the click of a button.
The Fluffy Manager even comes with its own trainer that you can use to tweak the FOV, vignette, and HUD.
Overall, this mod is a pure quality-of-life fix that makes modding Resident Evil Village as simple as possible.
Before downloading anything else off this list, we highly encourage you to grab the Fluffy Manager to save yourself a ton of time!
7. Mini-Me Chris
Now that you’ve given Chris Redfield baby Rose’s head, it’s time to take things even further!
This mod puts Chris’s head on baby Rose’s body, and the results are as hilarious as you can imagine.
Is it absolutely absurd? Yes. But that hasn’t stopped us from giggling like mad schoolchildren when we’re using this mod.
Seriously, you try keeping a straight face when Mia is cradling a baby with a grown man’s face and reading bedtime stories to it!
What makes it even better is that all of the facial animations work, and although some do look a bit weird, that only adds to the fun.
We would definitely recommend using this mod alongside the Baby Over Chris mod because the swap is just too good to pass up.
Of course, if you use this with the Fluffy Mod Manager, you can turn it on and off whenever you want.
So, if you’re in the mood for a more serious run, you can simply disable it and then re-enable it when you need a good laugh!
6. Resident ReShade
Resident Evil is one of the most graphically demanding PC games, and it definitely looks the part!
However, modder TheBigRyan1 has managed to make the game look even better with the Resident Reshader.
This mod focuses on improving the color, sharpness, and contrast in the game so that details are crisper and the world looks more defined.
Resident Reshade really emphasizes how great the graphics in this game are, and it greatly improves the appearance of dark places.
Additionally, because the contrast is tweaked, it makes light sources stand out a lot more, which honestly makes the game a lot eerier.
This mod gives the vanilla game the little extra oomph it needs to look truly stunning, and we highly recommend trying it for yourself.
5. PS4 Button Mod
A lot of the best PS4 zombie games are on PC, and many people enjoy being able to use a PS4 controller while playing them.
However, what makes this tricky is that there is rarely any native support for PlayStation button prompts with games like this, including RE: Village!
Well, this mod fixes this issue by swapping the Xbox One controller prompts with PS4 button prompts making playing the game a lot easier.
Now when the game tells you to hit X, it will mean the button on the bottom and not the one on the left side!
Seriously, having to remember what Xbox buttons translate to on a PS4 controller is hard work when you’re running from monsters and dealing with QTEs.
Moreover, the mod creator also has a DualSense Button mod, so if you’d rather play with that, you absolutely can!
If you’re a PS4 controller user, do yourself a massive favor and get this mod to save yourself a lot of headaches and undeserved deaths!
4. Enhanced Model Viewer
Okay, so this mod doesn’t impact gameplay at all, but we had to add it because it is definitely cool to play around with.
The Enhanced Model Viewer allows you to view a ton of models from the game and get up close and personal with them.
Now, we don’t mean this in a creepy way, but rather we were shocked at how detailed the models were when you actually get to look at them closely.
You know, without them trying to rip your face off and send you to an early gave and all.
With this mod, you can zoom in and out as much as you want while rotating the camera to view every angle of a character’s model.
This mod really lets you see just how much detail was put into each character, from the textures on their clothing to the lines on their skin.
Plus, it also has a ton of animations for each respective character. It really gives you a new appreciation for the game devs!
Moreover, we think this mod is great for cosplayers as well, as it allows you to see literally even detail of a character’s clothing.
While it may not have an impact on the game, the Enhanced Model Viewer is definitely worth checking out in our option!
3. Daughters Of YorHa
From the mod creator who gave us Baby Over Chris Face and Mini Me Chris comes a mod that brings a bit of NieR: Automata to the Village!
NieR: Automata has made its way into everything, including the best Devil May Cry 5 mods, and honestly, we’re here for it.
What this mod does is give Lady Dimitrescu’s daughters an android makeover by putting them in a dress resembling 2B’s.
It also comes with additional accessories, such as the Virtuous Contract sword as a replacement for their sickles and an android visor.
Strangely enough, these outfits feel right and home in the game, and if you didn’t know NeiR, they could even pass as vanilla assets!
The only real downside is that the dresses don’t have physics, but this is easy to overlook while they’re trying to kill you.
Moreover, if you decide you don’t like the dresses, you can always keep the sword asset as a stand-alone, which is pretty cool.
If you love NieR: Automata, we highly suggest checking this mod out during your next playthrough.
2. More Melee Weapons
While Ethan’s knife isn’t the greatest weapon in the game, when you’re out of ammo and fighting for your life, it can be a godsend.
However, one thing we never understood is why you can’t pick up any of the melee weapons used by enemies and wield them yourself!
Although this mod won’t let you pick up melee weapons, it will let you swap the model of Ethan’s knife with them, which is the next best thing!
All you have to do is choose the mod file with the weapon you want to use, and when you load up the game, Ethan will be using it.
Some of the weapons you can use include a Dimitrescu knife, a Lycan axe, a Halberd, and, of course, a rake.
It’s nice to be able to carry around something other than Ethan’s old knife, and defending yourself with a rake sure is fun! Especially if you have a baby face.
1. Spongebob Paintings & Photos
If you ask us, we certainly saved the best for last, and if you don’t think so, then you need to rethink your priorities!
We may be hopeless Millennials, but Spongebob Squarepants never gets old, and this mod is an absolute must-have, in our opinion.
What it does is replace nearly every painting and photograph in Resident Evil Village with paintings and stills from seasons 1-3 of Spongebob.
From Squidward’s Bold and Brash, proudly displayed in Castle Dimitrescu, to Mia reading Rose a book featuring Patrick’s butt, this mod has it all.
Now you can run for your life while the ever-gleeful face of Spongebob watches from the surrounding walls.
If only there were a mod that replaces the sounds for certain enemies to be Spongebob’s iconic laugh, we’d be set!
The Spongebob Paintings and Photos mod is absolutely hilarious, and we definitely recommend trying it out for yourself if you’re a fan!
Summary
We hope you’ve enjoyed our list of the 10 best Resident Evil Village mods and found some to use during your next playthrough.
