While we understand why PlayStation would want to stop players from using this method, since it’s not officially through them, it doesn’t make it any less disappointing for the players who frequently use this method.

Although we’re not 100% certain why the ability to play Roblox on PS4 was suddenly blocked, we hope it is ultimately because PlayStation is working with Roblox to create an official version that would do away with the need for a workaround completely.

Until Sony either removes the ban or announces an official way to play Roblox, gamers are going to have to make do with other options.

Fortunately, some of the best gaming laptops are easy enough to come by and offer a reliable way to play Roblox without any problems.

Roblox PS4 Future Possibilities And Roadblocks

As we noted above, not all hope is lost for gamers wanting to enjoy Roblox on their PS4 consoles.

Just last year, the CEO of Roblox, Dave Bazucki, stated during the Q1 2021 Earnings Call with investors that “Switch, PlayStation, Quest — all of these platforms make perfect sense for Roblox.”

This, coupled with the fact that Roblox is actively hiring developers with PlayStation experience, gives us a lot of hope that we’ll see an official release date for Roblox on PS4 in the near future.

External Asset Issues

That being said, this could be just a red herring since Sony is notoriously against the use of external assets, which Roblox uses a lot of, making it difficult for Sony to filter them all out.

Sony is so against the use of external assets because it gives them less control over the content on their consoles.

This is especially true when it comes to user-created content such as mods or Roblox games since they don’t want to risk anything potentially harmful or offensive being published.

While this causes a lot of frustration for gamers, we understand why they have these concerns.

Monetary Incentive
