The Best Cities Skylines Cheats

What are the best Cities Skylines cheats?

Cities Skylines is an addicting game, but sometimes you just don’t want to play by the rules!

Fortunately, there are a ton of cheat codes for this game that you can use to literally play god.

Today, we’re taking a look at the best and more useful cheats you can use while also telling you how to enable them!

How To Enable Cities Skylines Cheats

Before you can start using cheats, you’ll need to know how to enable them.

Don’t worry if you’ve never used them before, because we’re going to walk you through the process, step by step.

Step 1: Navigate To The Content Manager Menu

To be able to use cheat codes, you have to turn them on in the “Content Manager” section of the menu.

Unlike the best Red Dead Redemption 2 cheats, the cheats in Cities Skylines are kind of like built-in mods which you can enable or disable at will.

Step 2: Select The Cheats You Want

In the Content Manager section, you can find the cheats grouped alongside any additional mods you have downloaded.

Underneath each, there is an on/off box, which you can use to seamlessly add or remove them from your game.

Once enabled, they will immediately take effect when you load into a city.

Step 3: Enjoy Cheating

Once you’ve done all of that, you can start using cheats in Cities Skylines, and we definitely appreciate how easy it is!

While Cities Skylines II is certainly shaping up to be incredibly realistic, we hope that the devs keep this cheat menu feature.

Plus, if you ever decide you don’t like a cheat, you can just turn it off with no hassle!

The Best Cities Skylines Cheats

Now that you know how to access and enable cheats, we can take a look at which ones are the best to use!

While you can always experiment with them yourself, there are a few that we highly recommend.

So, if you’re ready to play god, here’s our list of the best Cities Skylines cheats:

Unlimited Money

This cheat is something you can find in pretty much any of the best video games of all time. At least the ones that allow cheating.

As the name suggests, the unlimited money cheat allows you to have unlimited funds to do whatever you want with.

This cheat is a must, in our opinion, because it allows you to build some truly spectacular cities that you wouldn’t have been able to build otherwise.

Plus, having unlimited money just makes playing a lot easier since you never have to worry about running out when you need something crucial.

This is one cheat we highly recommend turning on, and it is definitely essential for building the perfect city!

Cities Skylines Unlimited Oil, Ore, Soil, & Unlock All

If the unlimited money cheat sounds a bit too cheaty to you, you can still have unlimited oil and ore without the extra funds.

When the Unlimited Ore and Oil cheat is enabled, these resources will no longer be drained from the terrain, meaning you can benefit from them indefinitely.

Similarly, underneath this cheat, there is the Unlimited Soil cheat, which, when enabled, with allow you to landscape without any limitations.

Lastly, under that cheat, there is the Unlock All cheat, which automatically unlocks all progression milestones.

All of these cheats are fun to play around with, and we highly recommend trying them all out if you want to make the best city possible!

Hard Mode

Hard Mode is the one cheat that will actually make things more difficult for you, so use it with caution!

This cheat is designed for players who want more of a challenge, and it definitely delivers.

When this cheat is enabled, buildings and maintenance costs are increased by 25%, along with relocation costs, and destroying a building only gives you half the normal amount back.

Likewise, RCI demand is reduced, and there is a slower leveling-up process for all buildings.

While it may not be as hard as fighting the most difficult Cuphead DLC bosses, Hard More is definitely not for beginners!

If you think the vanilla game is a bit too easy and really want to try your hand at building a thriving city when the odds are against you, use this cheat!

Cities Skylines Developer UI Menu

If the previous cheats aren’t spicing up your game enough, you can always enable the Developer UI.

To do this, you will need to load Steam and right-click on Cities Skylines, then click on the Properties option.

Once open, click on General and Launch Options, then type: “–enable-dev-u” when prompted without quotation marks.

Now, when you launch the game, you will have access to the Developer UI, which gives you more options to play around with.

This includes more control over money, unlocks, and building progression, so you can truly customize your experience.

Summary

We hope you’ve enjoyed our list of the best Cities Skylines cheats and found some you can’t wait to use.

Cheating is easy in Cities Skylines, and the devs made it that way for a reason. It’s practically encouraged!

While there are many cheats to spice up the game, these are the ones we recommend trying out for yourself!
