One of its highlights is the farm you inherit and build from the ground up, setting up new structures and repairing the ones your grandfather left behind. The greenhouse is one such structure in need of extensive repair, the achievement of which grants you some much-needed boosts, such as the ability to plant crops in winter.

Acquiring all these items and completing all the bundles mentioned above will cause the Community Center’s Junimos to work on the greenhouse as your character sleeps overnight, and you will wake up to your grandfather’s greenhouse in a clean, functional state.

It may seem like quite an undertaking to get the Stardew Valley greenhouse repaired, but it’s a building that can help raise your profit by quite a margin. The greenhouse features a 10×12 crop plot that stays fertile even through the Winter season. Any crop you plant in the greenhouse won’t die as soon as the season changes, which makes planting less of a wasteful endeavor. Aside from that, it doesn’t need a Scarecrow to keep the crows from eating some of your crops. It features a water trough that makes it easy for you to refill your Watering Can if you don’t have Sprinklers set up, as crops still need to be watered when planted inside the building. Because the crops are indoors, they’re also invulnerable to lightning and can’t be watered by rainfall.

You can plant almost any type of crop in the greenhouse, regardless of the season. Because of its ability to grow crops in winter, it’s the only place you can plant Winter Seeds. Fruit trees are capable of being planted inside the building as well, on the condition that there’s always a space between the tree and any other crop or item placed within the plot. Giant crops are not capable of being planted within the greenhouse, however.

The Stardew Valley greenhouse is one of the best buildings to maximize your profits in-game. It’s worth the effort of completing Community Center bundles (or buying from Joja, if you prefer it) if you can still plant and sell crops throughout the winter season, which would normally make it impossible to grow anything on any outside plot. If your strategy is to maximize farming options in the game through the four seasons, the greenhouse is one of the most important buildings you need on your farm.
