OSRS: The 10 Best Rings (Ranked)
What are the best rings in OSRS?
If you’re looking to give your character an edge in Old School Runescape, then you’re going to want to know exactly how to get the best rings the game has to offer.
Between teleporting, strength, attack, and defense bonuses, the best rings in OSRS have a lot of unique perks to offer that every player should be aware of.
Regardless of the class you’re playing as you definitely should never leave your ring slot empty!
Before you choose just any ring to add to your ring slot, you should know some of the best to keep an eye out for, as well as what benefits they can provide aside from simply boosting your attack or defense.
OSRS: The 10 Best Rings In OSRS
Our ranked lists are created by researching and rounding up information from the most reputable web sources.
Here’s our list of the 10 best rings in OSRS:
10. Warrior Ring
The warrior ring is one of the four Fremennik rings, each designed to be suitable for one of the three combat classes.
This ring is geared towards warriors — if the name didn’t give it away — and it is one of the few rings in the game that boosts combat stats.
Although often viewed as the least favorable of the Fremennik rings, this ring is still worth equipping if you happen to pick it up.
Why It’s So Good
The warrior ring provides a +4 to slash attacks and a +4 defense bonus to slash damage.
It can also be imbued if you have 650,000 nightmare reward points or 260 Soul Wars zeal tokens, which allows you to double these bonuses.
How To Get It
This ring is dropped by Dagannoth Rex, a Dagannoth King who can be found in the Waterbirth Island Dungeon.
He also has a chance to drop the berserker ring, which we will touch on further down on this list.
9. Eternal Slayer Ring
The eternal slayer ring is a special variant of the slayer ring, providing significant benefits over its standard version.
While this ring won’t provide you with any combat benefits, what it does provide can make getting between Slayer locations much easier.
Why It’s So Good
While most slayer rings provide players with a maximum of 8 teleports, the eternal slayer ring removes this limit to have unlimited teleports between all slayer locations.
This includes The Slayer Tower, Tarn’s Lair, Stronghold Slayer Cave, Fremennik Slayer Cave, and the Dark beasts’ chamber.
Keep in mind that you will need to manually find these locations before being able to teleport to them.
How To Get It
To get your hands on these unlimited teleports, you will need a level 75 crafting skill, and you will need to have purchased the Ring Bling unlock from any Slayer master at the cost of 300 reward points.
You will also need an eternal gem that can be found by killing any superior slayer monsters. Once used to craft this ring, the gem cannot be taken back out.
It should also be noted that it will disappear completely if you have this ring on and die during PvP combat.
So take care when getting into any fights with other players!
8. Treasonous Ring (i)
This ring is an upgraded version of the standard treasonous ring, and it offers some decent benefits that warriors, in particular, can benefit from.
While there are some better alternatives, the treasonous ring (i) is worth equipping if you find it.
Why It’s So Good
This ring offers the greatest stab damage and defense bonus of any OSRS ring you can find at +8.
This makes it particularly useful against monsters vulnerable to stab damage, such as the Corporeal Beast and dragons.
While not the most used ring, it does have its uses if you know how to exploit it against specific enemies and monster types.
How To Get It
The treasonous ring (i) can rarely be dropped by Venenatis, a Wilderness boss. Alternatively, you can imbue a regular treasonous ring as a reward from the Nightmare Zone or Soul Wars.
This will cost 650,000 reward points or 260 Zeal tokens.
7. Elven Signet
This is another non-combat-enhancing ring that can prove very helpful if you are using crystal equipment.
Why It’s So Good
Equipping the elven signet ring provides players with a 10% chance not to use a charge when using any crystal equipment pieces, such as the crystal axes, pickaxe, bow, harpoon, and shield.
However, this effect doesn’t extend to the Blade of Saeldor, a crystal scimitar weapon.
Even upgrading this scimitar into the Blade of Saeldor (c) won’t allow the ring’s effect to work, so keep that in mind if you favor this weapon.
That said, this ring can be especially helpful when using a pickaxe or harpoon, as these are both used in skilling activities and saving as many charges as possible can be beneficial.
Additionally, since crystal shards can be difficult to get, if you rely on crystal weapons, this ring can save you a lot of grinding.
How To Get It
If you want to get this ring for yourself, you’ll need to head to Prifddinas, where you can find Crystal Implings, who drop this signet.
You will need a level 80 hunter to catch them, but it can be well worth it for this benefit.
This signet can also be combined with a celestial ring at a singing bowl if you have 100 crystal shards, 1,000 stardust, and a level 70 in smithing and crafting.
This will create the celestial signet, which possesses the effects of the celestial ring — +4 mining — and the Elvin signet.
6. Tyrannical Ring (i)
The tyrannical ring is an upgraded version of the standard tyrannical ring, and it boasts doubled stats compared to the original.
Most players favor this ring as a switch, instead of a main ring, due to its lack of strength bonuses.
However, despite this, it has a very useful benefit that users of the Dragon Warhammer may enjoy.
Why It’s So Good
The reason users of the Dragon Warhammer gravitate towards this ring is its impressive crush offensives and defensive bonuses of +8.
Because the Warhammer relies heavily on crush bonuses to land a hit, this ring helps increase its effectiveness and makes it even more powerful in combat.
Truly, the only real downside to this ring is its lack of a strength bonus, which is why many people keep it with them to equip during specific battles instead of using it as a main go-to ring.
How To Get It
To get this ring, you will need to first get the tyrannical ring from Callisto, south of the Demonic Ruins. It can then be imbued using either 650,000 nightmare reward points or 260 zeal tokens.
Keep in mind that once you have this ring, if you die in an unsafe PvP area, it will lose this imbued bonus, requiring you to imbue it again.
However, if you die outside of a PvP area because imbued items are untrainable, it will retain its improved effects.
5. Ring of Endurance
The ring of endurance is one of the most difficult to get in the game, and, unlike many other rings on this list, it is also one of the most expensive.
Why It’s So Good
The ring of endurance requires players to have a minimum of level 70 in agility to wear, and it is charged with stamina potions.
When equipped, it doubles the effects of stamina potions and restores 40% of your run energy.
In addition to this, if you have more than 500 charges, it will even passively reduce your running energy drain by 15%.
This makes it extremely useful in areas where you need to do a lot of running, such as in the Blast Furnace or when fighting Commander Zilyana.
How To Get It
Getting your hands on this ring can be extremely difficult, and it will require a great deal of luck.
It is a potential reward from the Grand Hallowed Coffin, and you will need an agility level of 92 to get past the final door of the Hallowed Sepulchre, where this ring can be potentially found.
However, the drop rate is 1/200, so you’ll need to have a lot of luck on your side to nab it.
4. Brimstone Ring
The brimstone ring is an item that any player looking to hit harder and more consistently should consider.
Think of it as the Barrows Gloves of the OSRS rings. Not only does it have impressive stats, but it also features a passive effect that many players enjoy.
Why It’s So Good
The brimstone ring stands out from other rings due to its +4 in all areas of attack and defense, except in magic, which gets a +6 attack and defense bonus.
Along with these boosts, its passive effect also makes it a stand-out choice for mages.
When equipped, this ring’s passive effect makes it so that every time a player casts a spell or uses a magical attack, there is a 25% chance that the opponent’s defensive roll will be reduced by 10%.
For mages that want to do more damage, this ring is a must-have.
How To Get It
To get the brimstone ring, you will first need to get three components — the hydra’s eye, heart, and fang — from the Alchemical Hydra, which requires a minimum of a 95 slayer skill to kill.
However, if you manage to get these items, this ring can be very helpful in some sticky situations.
3. Archers Ring
This ring is an upgraded version of the standard archers ring, and, as the name suggests, it is the best for rangers.
Boasting the best bonuses in ranged of any ring, it isn’t something that any self-respecting rangers will want to pass up.
Why It’s So Good
This ring doubles the stats of its base variation, providing players with a +8 to both ranged attack and defense.
This allows ranger characters to attack better and defend themselves from outside ranged attacks much more effectively.
Especially when paired with other items such as the necklace of fury or necklace of anguish.
It is also another of the most expensive rings, going for around 3.7 million on the Grand Exchange.
Wearing a ring of wealth can make gathering funds easier, as this ring allows the wearer to pick up any currency dropped by enemies automatically.
While the ring of wealth didn’t make this list, it’s easy enough to make with a 68 magic and a dragonstone ring, and it can make buying some of these other expensive rings a lot more realistic.
You can even imbue the ring of wealth to double the chances of scroll drops in the wilderness, which can lead to even better gear. Just remember to equip another ring before heading into battle.
How To Get It
Players can find a standard archers ring as one of the four Fremennik rings dropped by the Dagannoth Supreme in the Waterbirth Island Dungeon or purchased from the Exchange as noted above.
However, the Supreme isn’t too difficult to kill, making this ring fairly easy to get early on, provided you have at least a level 90 in combat.
Once you have this ring, it can be imbued using 650,000 nightmare reward points or 260 Zeal tokens.
Keep in mind that once this ring is imbued, like the tyrannical ring (i), it will lose its improvement if another player kills you.
2. Ring of Suffering (i)
We’ve saved the best two for last, and although it didn’t take our number 1 spot, the ring of suffering is a must-have for any serious player.
Why It’s So Good
This ring is the best defensive ring you can get in the game, and in many ways, it’s like having an instant god-mode.
Boasting +20 to all defensive stats, this ring can be immeasurably useful in almost every single boss fight you encounter in OSRS.
It even comes with a +4 prayer bonus to sweeten the deal even more — if you weren’t already sold.
While it may not be the highest prayer bonus, the ring of the gods and its ability to incorporate the holy wrench takes that title; it can still make a noticeable difference.
But, if even that wasn’t enough for you to run out to find this ring, it can also be charged with up to 100,000 charges from rings of recoil, allowing it to act as a recoil ring itself.
This added effect makes dealing with creatures like snakelings a breeze, as the recoil effect alone is often enough to kill them outright.
How To Get It
To get this ring, and you’re going to want to, you’ll need to enchant a Zeynte ring with level 93 magic and level 89 crafting to make it a standard ring of suffering.
You can then use 725,000 nightmare points or 300 Zeal tokens to upgrade, doubling the stats to +20.
Although this may seem like a lot of work just for one ring, once equipped, you’re never going to want to trade it in.
1. Berserker Ring (i)
Finally, no OSRS best rings list would be complete without mentioning this bad boy.
When it comes to melee, this ring knocks the tyrannical ring out of the park and makes you feel like you can even fight the gods.
Move over, Bandos!
Why It’s So Good
Like the tyrannical ring, this ring offers a +8 to crush defense but throws in a +8 strength bonus to boot.
This allows players to increase their max hit significantly, and as a result, this ring is commonly used as a primary ring for melee interactions.
Player kills also use this ring to maximize their strength, which can be devastating if you find yourself on the receiving end.
How To Get It
This ring is an upgraded version of the Fremennik berserker ring, which you can find dropped by Dagannoth Rex. To upgrade it, you will need 650,000 nightmare points or 260 Zeal tokens.
Summary
While you may not think of rings as essential as the weapons you carry or the shields you equip, in OSRS, they aren’t something to be overlooked.
The bonuses that many of these rings provide can give players surprising advantages that not only make your character more powerful but the game more fun!
