• Fairy
• Fire
• Grass
• Ice
• Steel

You absolutely don’t want to use any of these types if you can help it, as you won’t be doing as much damage as you could be.

It should also be noted that Fire weakens Bug, Grass, Ice, and Steel, making them especially vulnerable during battle.

That said, dual types of these Pokémon can be considered so long as one of their types is something that fire is neutral or weak against.

For instance, Lombre (Water/Grass) or Aurorus (Rock/Ice) would work because they have a co-type that can be super effective against Fire.

Of course, Dragon-types can also resist Fire, so when in doubt, you can always use one of the best dragon Pokémon during battle!

Best Counters For Fire Type Pokémon

Although there are a lot of Pokémon you can use to take down a Fire-type, some are preferable to others.

Rock and Water Pokémon are by far the best you can choose, and we highly recommend having at least one of these types on your team.

Ground types can also be useful since they weaken Fire, but since they are not resistant to fire, you’ll have to watch their HP.

While there are many Pokémon to choose from, you’ll have to pay close attention to their types and whether or not they can perform super-effective moves.

Pokémon To Use Against Fire Types

If you want to add Pokémon that are super-effective against Fire types, you have a lot of good options.

However, these are the ones you should keep an eye out for while exploring.

• Gigalith (Rock)
• Rockruff (Rock)
• Omastar (Rock/Water)
• Geodude (Rock/Ground)
• Squirtle (Water)
• Kingler (Water)
• Quagsire (Water/Ground)
• Drednaw (Water/Rock)
• Sandslash (Ground)
• Sandacobra (Ground)
• Rhydon (Ground/Rock)

Any of these Pokémon will be able to bring down a Fire-type Pokémon quickly, and we highly recommend adding at least one of them to your team.

Along with these Pokémon, you will also want to double-check their move sets to ensure they will be doing super effective damage.

Moves To Use Against Fire Types

While you can technically use any move against a Fire-type, this is a terrible strategy, since not all attacks are effective.

What you need to aim for are super effective moves that exploit the weaknesses of Fire-type enemies.

The best offensive moves to use include:

• Bulldoze (Ground)
• Earthquake (Ground)
• Sand Attack (Ground)
• Smack Down (Rock)
• Rock Slide (Rock)
• Stone Edge (Rock)
• Water Pulse (Water)
• Aqua Tail (Water)
• Surf (Water)

Each of these moves is super effective against Fire-type Pokémon, and they are what you should prioritize in battle.

Some of these moves certain Pokémon will start with, but others you should look for as TMs while exploring.

However, no matter which ones you end up using, know that they will do some serious damage against any Fire-type that gets in your way!
