The Best Eevee Evolutions in Pokemon

What are the best Eevee evolutions in Pokémon?

Eevee is one of the cutest Pokémon, hands down, but she can also pack a punch in battle!

While there are many different types that she can evolve into, some are better than others.

So today, we’re taking a look at the best evolutions of everyone’s favorite fluffy Pokémon!

The Best Eevee Evolutions In Pokémon

In the Pokémon series, Eevee has eight evolutions she can go through, and we’ve rounded them all up to find the best!

While all evolutions have their uses, we’ve ranked these in terms of their overall powers and abilities!

So, take a break from catching them all and enjoy our list of the best Eevee evolutions in Pokémon:

8. Flareon

Best Eevee Evolutions Flareon

Kicking off our list is Flareon, a fire-type Pokémon that was introduced in Generation I with Pokémon Red and Blue.

This form of Eevee is created using a Fire Stone, and it is one of her final forms in the series.

In her Flareon form, Eevee retains a fluffy appearance, with her signature neck floof and bushy tail still being prominent.

However, despite a similar appearance, Flareon has a completely different biology which includes an internal flame sac that heats up when it’s excited.

This Pokémon also fluffs out its fur to cool down, which is positively adorable, and we love it.

Petting is ill-advised, though, since this evolution’s body temp rests at around 1,300 degrees Fahrenheit, basically making it a danger puff.

In terms of its stats, Flareon has a high attack stat of 130, a high special defense of 110, and a speed stat of 65.

Flareon is also resistant to bug, steel, fire, grass, ice, and fairy-type Pokémon, though weak to water, rock, and ground types.

This Pokémon can also learn some powerful moves, including Fire Fang, Lava Plume, and Flare Blitz, that make it incredibly devastating in battle.

To date, Flareon has appeared in every Pokémon game since the first generation, and we really hope this trend continues.

We’re still wondering what’s going to come next after Scarlet and Violet, and we’re holding out hope that it includes this Eevee evolution!

7. Espeon

Best Eevee Evolutions Espeon

Up next, we have Espeon, a psychic type Pokémon that was first introduced in Generation II.

Espeon is the Eevee evolution that occurs when you level her up with a high friendship during the day.

It is also one of the best Pokémon starters of all time, as it was a starter Pokémon alongside Umbreon in Pokémon Colosseum!

This Pokémon is seriously cool looking, with a slender body, dainty legs, and large violet eyes with white pupils.

While it doesn’t have Eevee’s floof, it does have a split tail and large ears winged by purple tufts of fur.

According to lore, Espeon’s fur is so sensitive that it can even sense the tiniest changes in the air, which allows it to predict the weather and where enemies are.

The red gem on its forehead also glows whenever it uses a psychic type attack, and it has to bathe in sunlight to recharge.

In terms of stats, Espeon has a very high base special attack of 130, followed by a speed of 110, which often allows it to get the first hit in.

Espeon also has a solid special defense of 95, though relatively low health and attack, both of which start off at 65.

While this Pokémon is weak to bug, ghost, and dark types, it is also resistant to fighting and psychic type attacks.

It has the potential to learn some pretty good moves as well, including Confusion, Psybeam, and Future Sight.

Since its debut, Espeon has been available in every Pokémon game except Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee, oddly enough.

6. Jolteon

Best Eevee Evolutions Jolteon

Jolteon is our next pick, and it is an Eevee evolution that occurs when Eevee is exposed to a Thunder Stone.

This Pokémon was introduced in Generation I, and it changes Eevee’s fluffy form to be much more spikey and lightning-esque.

Covered in yellow fur with a spikey white fringe where Eevee’s neck poof used to be, Jolteon is a really cool-looking Pokémon.

According to the lore, this Pokémon uses an organ located in its lungs to produce electricity, which also causes a unique crackling noise when it exhales!

Joleton can unleash an electric discharge equal to 10,000 volts, and its fur is made from pricky charged needles that aid conduction.

Despite being one of the best dog Pokémon of all time, you definitely don’t want to give Jolteon pets, no matter how tempting it is!

As for its base stats, this Pokémon has a high-speed stat of 130 and a high special attack of 110, which makes it quite powerful even before leveling up.

In combat, it is resistant to flying, steel, and other electric types but weak to ground types, so you won’t want to use it against something like Donphan.

It also has the ability to learn some seriously powerful moves, such as Thunder Shock, Thunder Fang, and Discharge, which can be brutal.

Unlike Espeon, this Pokémon has appeared in every Pokémon game since Generation I, and it has definitely become one of our favorite Eevee evolutions!

5. Leafeon

Best Eevee Evolutions Leafeon

Leafeon is a grass-type Eevee evolution that was first introduced in Generation IV with Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.

This Pokémon is created when you evolve Eevee by leveling her up near a Moss Rock or exposing her to a Leaf Stone.

Once evolved, Leafeon is absolutely adorable, with large leafy ears and a leaf-like tail that gives it a very distinct appearance.

In the lore, Leafeon has a cell structure that is very similar to plants, which allows it to photosynthesize and purify the air around it!

It also gets energy from sleeping in the sun as opposed to eating, and while it is pacifistic, don’t be fooled into thinking it’s not dangerous!

Leafeon’s tail is exceptionally sharp, even sharper than a sword, and it is even capable of taking down a tree with a single swipe.

As for its base stats, Leafeon has a high defense stat of 130, along with a strong attack of 110 and speed of 95.

This Pokémon is resistant to ground, water, electric, and grass-type attacks but weak against flying, bug, fire, ice, and poison-type attacks.

It can also learn a series of great moves, including Razor Leaf, Magical Leaf, Giga Drain, and Leaf Blade.

Since being introduced in Generation IV, Leafeon has appeared in every Pokémon game, aside from Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee.

4. Glaceon

Best Eevee Evolutions Glaceon

Glaceon is an ice-type Pokémon that was introduced alongside Leafeon in Generation IV.

This Pokémon is an Eevee evolution that’s created when Eevee levels up near an Ice Rock or is exposed to an Ice Stone.

Once evolved, Glaceon is covered in light-blue fur with large ears and two dangling flaps that resemble hair framing its face.

Glaceon can control its body temperature in order to freeze the moisture in the air surrounding it to create ice crystals.

It can also freeze its own fur into needle-like points, which can then be fired at enemies like a very deadly porcupine.

In the lore, Glaceon is a Pokémon that is really popular at ski resorts because it has the ability to create a ton of light, powdery snow!

As for its stats, Glaceon benefits from having a naturally high special attack of 130, as well as a defense skill of 110.

While its speed and health are only a base level of 65, its high defense makes it capable of standing up to a number of weak attacks.

Glaceon is naturally resistant to ice types but weak to fire, steel, rock, and fighting-type attacks, so don’t put it in the ring against Blaziken!

However, as it levels up, it will gain access to a number of great moves, such as Icy Wind, Ice Shard, Ice Fang, Freeze Dry, and Blizzard.

Like a few Eevee evolutions on this list, Glaceon is available in every Pokémon game since Gen IV, save for Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee!

3. Vaporeon

Best Eevee Evolutions Vaporeon

Vaporeon is a water-type Pokémon that was introduced in Generation I, and it is an Eevee evolution that occurs when Eevee’s exposed to a Water Stone.

This Pokémon shares traits with both land and aquatic animals, with a light blue body with arms and legs but fin-like ears and a long mermaid-like tail.

In Pokémon lore, this tail is even said to have been the inspiration behind mermaid folklore in the games!

It also has a large white fin that encircles its neck, as opposed to the ring of fluff from its original form.

Vaporeon is rarely seen in the wild, though they can sometimes be found in freshwater lakes, though mainly they are urban creatures seen with their trainers.

In terms of base stats, Vaporeon has a very high HP of 130 and a special attack of 110, though its speed lags behind at 65.

It is resistant to steel, fire, water, and ice types but weak against grass and electric-type attacks in battle.

As Vaporeon levels up, it has the ability to learn a number of great moves, including Water Gun, Water Pulse, and Hydro Pump.

Vaporeon can be found in every Pokémon game, as well as many of the best Pokémon fan games, giving players plenty of opportunities to train them!

2. Sylveon

Best Eevee Evolutions Sylveon

Okay, so Sylveon is undoubtedly one of the cutest Pokémon of all time, and it’s been around since Generation VI.

This Eevee evolution is caused when leveling up Eevee while she knows a fairy-type move and has a high level of friendship.

Sylveon has pale fur with pink feet, ears, and tail, plus huge blue eyes and two sets of long feelers that emit a soothing aura.

It even has pink and white bows, one on its ear and the other on its neck, that make it look like a stuffed animal come to life.

When this adorable Pokémon is hunting, it swirls its feelers around to remove hostility from its prey before pouncing on its victim.

While that’s a bit horrifying, Sylveon has also been known to wrap these feelers around its trainer’s arm when walking together, which is kind of precious.

In terms of base stats, this Pokémon has a high special defense of 130 and a high special attack of 110.

It also has a decent amount of HP, with its base level being 95, giving it a good chance of surviving in battle.

Speaking of battle, this Pokémon is resistant to fighting, bug, and dark type Pokémon and completely immune to dragon-type attacks.

However, it is weak against poison and steel types, so keep that in mind before sending them out into the ring.

Sylveon can also learn a number of impressive moves, including Disarming Voice, Draining Kiss, and Moonblast.

Since Generation VI, Sylveon can be found in every Pokémon game aside from Let’s Go Pikachu, Let’s Go Eevee, Brilliant Diamond, and Shining Pearl.

1. Umbreon

Best Eevee Evolutions Umbreon

Taking our number one spot is Umbreon, a dark-type Pokémon that was first introduced in Generation II.

Umbreon is an Eevee evolution that occurs when you evolve an Eevee at night with a high level of friendship.

In this form, Umbreon has a sleek black body with red eyes and yellow rings adorning its forehead, legs, ears, and tail.

These yellow rings glow when Umbreon becomes excited and also when they are exposed to moonlight, which fills them with energy.

As a nocturnal creature, this Pokémon hunts at night and has such keen eyesight that it can pick out prey even in complete darkness.

When Umbreon feels threatened or angered, it can also release poisonous sweat from its pores into the eyes of those around it.

For its base stats, Umbreon is very good at defense, with a general defense stat of 110 and a special defense stat of 130/

It also has a solid amount of HP, 95, and a speed stat of 65, which is fairly decent, though not spectacular.

During combat, Umbreon is resistant to ghost and dark type Pokémon, and completely immune to all psychic-type attacks.

However, it is weak to fighting, bug, and fairy-types, so it’s best not to use them against foes like Ribombee!

Umbreon can also learn a number of great moves as it evolves, including Snarl, Assurance, and Dark Pulse, which can be devastating in the right circumstances.

Aside from Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee, Umbreon has appeared in every Pokémon game since Gen I, and it’s definitely become our favorite Eevee evolution!
