What are the best stab weapons in OSRS?
Stab weapons are used to deal stab damage to enemies, and some monsters have a specific weakness to this type of attack.
However, not any old stab weapon should be your weapon of choice, especially since there are some incredible ones in the game.
So, to make sure you can find the best stab weapons in OSRS, we’ve created this handy list with everything you need to know!
The 10 Best Stab Weapons In OSRS
Each of the stab weapons on this list has been chosen due to their stats, bonuses, and overall usefulness.
However, each one also comes with different requirements for wielding, so make sure to keep that in mind before running out to find them.
Get ready to advance your combat skill because here’s our list of the 10 best stab weapons in OSRS:
10. Rune Sword
Kicking off our list, we have the rune sword, a medium-level sword that is created out of runite metal.
As with all rune weapons, this sword requires a level 40 in attack to wield, which is fairly low for many players.
In terms of attack stats, the rune sword provides a +38 stab and a +26 slash bonus, as well as a +39 strength bonus.
These swords are often favored by non-member Ironmen, as they are easier to purchase than rune scimitars, which need to be smithed.
Speaking of purchasing, the rune sword can be bought from Scavvo’s Rune Store for 20k gold or the Grand Exchange for around 12k.
Alternatively, you can also create this sword yourself with a level 89 in smithing and a rune bar.
However, rune bars can be purchased for around 12k on the GE, making it cost roughly the same amount as the sword.
If you’re looking to save money and have a level 85 in mining, you can always mine runite ore yourself and cut the costs.
Whichever way you go about obtaining this sword, it is definitely a stab weapon you shouldn’t pass up!
Up next, we have Keris, a dagger that can be obtained after defeating the giant Scarab during the Contact quest.
This stab weapon stands out because it deals an additional 33% bonus damage against all scabarites and kalphites.
It does require a level 50 attack to wield, and it can be poisoned the same as many other daggers.
Keris also boasts the second-highest prayer bonus, with +2, only falling behind Wolfbane’s +5 bonus.
As for its stats, Keris provides +40 stab, +20 slash, and +2 magic attack, along with a +30 strength bonus.
Unfortunately, if it is lost upon death and isn’t protected, it can be retrieved from Osman for 20k coins.
Alternatively, you can pay 25k to have it retrieved by Perdu, the traveling dwarven merchant at the Lost Property Shop.
Unlike many other weapons on this list, Keris can only be obtained by defeating the giant Scarab mentioned above.
It is not available in any shop or at the Grand Exchange, meaning you will have to tackle this short quest before you can get it!
8. Dragon Spear
Like the dragon battle axe, one of the best crush weapons in OSRS, the dragon spear is a force to be reckoned with!
This two-handed melee weapon requires a level 60 attack to wield, though it cannot be created via smithing.
Instead, this is a drop from the rare and gem drop tables, though it will only appear as a gem drop after completing the Legends’ Quest.
If you’re wearing the ring of wealth, the chance of receiving it as a drop from either table will be slightly increased.
The dragon spear comes with a +55 to stab, slash, and crush attack, along with a +60 strength bonus.
It also comes with the special attack, shove, which pushes enemies back and stuns them for three seconds.
While finding it as a rare drop can take a lot of time, it is also possible to find this stab weapon on the Grand Exchange.
If you would rather buy it than wait to get lucky, the dragon spear can usually be found for about 37k on the GE.
7. Dragon Dagger
The second strongest dagger in Old School Runescape, the dragon dagger, is an incredibly powerful weapon.
This stab weapon requires an attack level of 60 and the completion of the Lost City quest to wield.
As with other dragon weapons, this dagger cannot be smithed and instead needs to be bought or found.
At in-game shops, this dagger can be found at Myths’ Guild Weaponry, Blades by Urbi, Iorwerth’s Arms, and Rasolo the Wandering Merchant.
However, it is usually more affordable to buy it on the Grand Exchange, where it goes for around 17.3k.
Additionally, this dagger can be dropped by the Chaos Elemental, Shadow Worm, Revenant Dragon, and Brutal Black Dragons.
As for stats, the dragon dagger provides a +40 stab and a +25 slash attack bonus, along with a +40 strength bonus.
It also comes with a special attack, puncture, which deals two hits at once with 15% more damage.
6. Guthan’s Warspear
Guthan’s warspear is up next, and this two-handed stab weapon is the second most accurate spear in OSRS.
However, it requires a level 70 attack to wield, and it is slower than most other spears, taking five ticks instead of four to strike.
If it is wielded together with Guthan’s armor set, which contains one of the best melee helms in OSRS, it picks up an extra bonus.
With all armor pieces equipped, players will have a 25% chance of restoring health with each successful melee attack.
This has the potential to be extremely useful, especially in difficult combat situations where extra healing is invaluable.
To get this spear, you will have to play through the Barrows minigame, where it has a 1/2,448 chance to be found in the Barrows Chest.
Alternatively, it can be purchased on the Grand Exchange for 219k, which is reasonably affordable for many players.
For stats, this warspear comes with +75 to stab, slash, and crush attacks, along with +7 to the same stats in defence.
It also comes with a +75 strength bonus, though it does degrade with every use, even if the player is using protection prayers.
You can repair this spear by either using an armor stand in your house or paying a few NPCs to repair it for you.
5. Abyssal Dagger
The abyssal dagger is the most powerful dagger in Old School Runescape, and it requires 70 attack to wield.
When used, this dagger provides a +75 stab bonus, a +40 slash bonus, and a +1 magic attack bonus.
It also grants a strength bonus of +75 and has the special attack abyssal puncture, which grants two hits in quick succession.
While this dagger can’t be smithed, it can be dropped by Abyssal Demons and Greater Abyssal Demons.
However, the most reliable way to get this dagger is to purchase it outright on the Grand Exchange.
The downside of this, though, is that it is extremely expensive, usually costing 2.5 million coins.
While it does come with a very large price tag, when paired with the best armor in OSRS, this dagger can make you extremely powerful!
4. Zamorakian Spear
Obtained from the God Wars Dungeon, the Zamorakian spear can be dropped by K’ril Tsutsaroth, and it requires a level 70 attack to wield.
Unlike most other spears, the Zamorakian spear cannot be poisoned, but that doesn’t stop it from dealing a lot of stab damage.
This spear offers the third-highest stab bonus of all weapons, with +85. It also boasts +65 slash and +65 crush attack bonuses.
If that wasn’t enough, it also comes with a +75 strength bonus and a +2 prayer bonus, making it the strongest spear in OSRS.
Moreover, this spear can be converted into the Zamorakian hasta, which we will talk about below, by Otto Godblessed.
It is extremely useful against monsters that are weak to stab attacks, but its additional attack styles make it strong overall.
While the Zamorakian spear can be dropped by K’ril Tsutsaroth at a rate of 1/127, it can also be purchased on the Grand Exchange.
On the GE, this spear is understandably expensive, costing around 4 million coins on average to buy.
However, if you don’t want to repeatedly go through the God Wars Dungeon trying to find this spear, it is definitely worth every coin.
3. Zamorakian Hasta
This stab weapon is created by taking a Zamorakian spear to Otto Godblessed, who can transform it into the Zamorakian hasta.
However, you will also need to pay Otto 300k, or 150k if you’ve completed the elite Kandarian Diary, to do this.
This is the third most effective stab weapon in the game and one of the best stab weapons in OSRS.
Players often use this hasta when fighting enemies like dragons, who are weak, to stab bonus damage.
Its stats include +85 stab and +65 slash and crush attack, along with +2 prayer and +75 strength.
The Zamorakian hasta can also be upgraded to the Dragon Hunter lance, which takes our number two spot below.
This weapon also uses the special attack shove to stun people and monsters by pushing them back during combat.
Best of all, this special attack also works during PvP combat, so if you are in the Wilderness and need to take on player killers, it can be very helpful.
While you can get the Zamorakian spear and take it to Otto to upgrade it, this hasta can also be purchased on the GE.
Like the spear, this very unique weapon comes with a high price tag, and it will cost you around 4.2 million.
2. Dragon Hunter Lance
This one-handed dragonbane weapon is created by using a hydra’s claw on a Zamorakian hasta.
In order to use this lance, you will need a 78 attack level and complete the firemaking, fishing, and smithing sections in Barbarian training.
When fighting dragons, this lance automatically boosts damage and accuracy by 20%, excluding reverent dragons.
While it is created using the Zamorakian hasta, once updated, this lance loses its prior form’s special attacks.
However, this does little to diminish the power of this weapon, as it still boasts +85 stab and +65 slash and crush attack bonuses.
If you currently have a Zamorakian hasta and want to transform it, you can either buy a Hydra’s claw or get one by killing the Alchemical Hydra.
The Alchemical Hydra can be found in the lowest level of the Karuulum Slayer Dungeon, and it requires a level 95 slayer skill to kill.
If you want to buy it, you’ll have to fork over 33 million on the Grand Exchange, which is an exceptionally high amount.
That said, you can also buy a Dragon Hunter lance on the GE for around 38 million, so you would still be saving a bit by purchasing the claw.
Although this weapon is extremely expensive if you’re not making everything yourself, it is definitely worth it if you want a powerful stabbing weapon.
1. Ghrazi Rapier
Taking our number one spot is the Ghrazi rapier, a one-handed stab weapon and one of the rarest drops in OSRS from the Theatre of Blood.
This rapier requires a level 80 attack to wield, but it provides the highest stab and strength bonuses of any weapon with its attack speed.
The Ghrazi rapier can also be combined with a holy ornament kit in order to make a holy Ghrazi rapier.
While this is largely a cosmetic change, it does make the weapon count as a Saradomin item in the God Wars Dungeon.
As for stats, the Ghrazi rapier offers a +95 stab and a +55 slash attack bonus, along with a +89 strength bonus.
While it doesn’t have any special attacks, it remains one of the best melee weapons in terms of sheer power.
The Ghrazi rapier can be found in the monumental chest inside the Theatre of Blood, and it has a 1/86 chance of dropping.
Alternatively, you can buy it outright, but it will cost you a whopping 55.4 million on the Grand Exchange!
This is by far the best stab weapon in OSRS, and while it can be tricky to get, it definitely is well worth the effort or price!
We hope you’ve enjoyed our list of the 10 best stab weapons in OSRS and found the ones you should go after for yourself!
While each of these powerful weapons comes with exceptional benefits, the Ghrazi rapier is truly amazing.
However, you really can’t go wrong with any of these melee weapons, and we’ve made sure to add a little something for everyone!
