What are the best Sims 4 hair mods & cc packs?

You can easily lose a lot of time creating characters in Sims 4, and if a majority of this time is spent trying to decide which lackluster vanilla hairstyle is the least visually offensive, you’re not alone.

While Sims 4 is a great game, it is a bit lacking in the character creation department, especially when compared to Sims 3.

Fortunately, there is no shortage of great hair mods and custom hair creations to help you create more attractive characters.

The Best Sims 4 Hair Mods & CC Packs

To save you from having to hunt down the best hair mods yourself, we’ve rounded up the most well-designed ones so that all you have to do is download them and start creating!

Here’s our list of the 25 best Sims 4 hair mods & cc packs:

25. Ella Hair

Although Sims 4 is one of the best real-life simulation games, it surprisingly lacks a lot of hair options for kids.

The Ella Hair mod was created for female children, and it helps provide a bit more needed variety.

Completely base game compatible, this long hair mod has 15 EA color swatches and can be used with hats.

There are two versions, one with front hair strands and one without, giving you a bit more variety.

While it is a relatively simple hair mod, it definitely is a good inclusion if you want to make a child with seriously cute hair.

24. Marcel Hair

The Marcel Hair mod adds short locs for male sims, something that was much needed in the base game.

While this hair is short and undercut, it is very well designed and needs no expansion packs to work.

Available for teen through elder sims and in 24 colors, this is one hairstyle for anyone who wished there were more natural hair options in the original game.

While EA is working on adding more diversity, it is still slow going without mods like this.

23. Audrey Hair

Audrey Hair brings a more realistic hair texture to the table with this short hairstyle for female sims.

This mod is particularly impressive because it comes in 27 base colors, 12 ombre colors, 14 fantasy colors, and seven rooted colors.

With 60 total colors to choose from, you’re definitely not going to be struggling to find the right shade.

If you’re looking for more short female hair mods, this is a great one to start with.

22. Jealousy Hair

It’s called Jealousy Hair for a reason, and it will definitely make you jealous that your hair can’t look this good in real life.

Jealousy Hair comes in 18 colors, and it can quickly become your go-to hairstyle.

While it may not be as detailed as the hair in The Last of Us Part II, it is certainly much more realistic than anything in the base Sims 4 game, and, aside from some minor clipping issues, it has no compatibility issues.

21. Nicholas Hair

This male hair mod adds a simple short hairstyle to the game, but the improved textures make it stand out from the vanilla options.

This prim and proper cut is available in 17 colors and includes a hat-fitted mesh, so you don’t have to worry about it clipping through any headgear.

It can be used by teens through elders, and it will definitely transform your male sims into something a bit more life-like.

20. Vapor Hair

Vapor Hair is for Sims 4 players who want their female sims to look as chic as possible.

Not only is the texture and transparency spot on with this mod, but it comes in 18 different colors and looks incredibly realistic when compared to the base Sims 4 options.

This medium-length hairstyle is literally a must-have if you want to create truly gorgeous Sims.

Plus, if you have the Sims 4 Get Famous expansion pack, you can completely own the red carpet with this show-stopping hairstyle and look every bit like a true superstar.

19. Haunting Hairstyles

If you’ve ever wanted your male sims to look like they could be the protagonist from one of the best first-person shooter PS4 games, this mod is for you.

You just can’t go wrong with a long-on-top hairstyle, and this one is available in 18 colors with custom shadow maps and only minor transparency issues.

Whether you’re creating a bad boy sim or a dapper young hipster, this hairstyle is just something you have to have.

18. Ominous Hair

Despite the name, this hair mod is anything but ominous, as it is one of the most beautifully detailed options on our list.

This stunning updo for female sims just exudes elegance, and the loose hair that frames the face is something you just can’t find in the base Sims 4 game.

If you’re creating a Sim who expects only the finest things in life, this hairstyle should be seriously considered.

17. Like Lust Hair

From the same creator of Haunting Hairstyles, we have the Like Lust Hair mod, which aims to give your male sims a seriously handsome look.

This short hairstyle suits almost any type of character, and it comes in 18 colors with fantastic transparency levels and custom shadow maps.

If you’re struggling with the unrealistic male hair options in the base game, this is one mod that you will definitely not want to miss.

16. Paradox Hair

Paradox Hair is another great female hair mod, and it could give Ariana Grande’s notorious high ponytail style a run for its money, and it can easily make your character as cute as some of the best blonde anime girls

This long hairstyle is available in an astonishing 27 colors, and it can be used with hats, though why you’d want to hide such cute hair is beyond us!

It also features an incredibly realistic texture that puts it light-years ahead of the base game options.

This CC hair is definitely not one that you want to pass up, especially since it can make any female sim look absolutely stunning.

15. Hair N4

Another modern male hair option that has a sleek look which is perfect for all the playboys and celebrities of the sims world.

This haircut is the perfect balance between a buzzed undercut and a classic long crew-cut.

Available in 13 colors, this CC hair mod has much more detail than the vanilla styles, and it is stylish without being too over the top.

If you want a Sim who looks like he walks the line between a New York socialite and someone who could take out some of the toughest video game bosses without breaking a sweat, this is the hair mod for you.

14. Runaway Hair

This long hair mod is a must-have if you want a character with long flowing locks that don’t look like they’re made of clay.

Runaway Hair is one of the best hairstyle mods for long hair, and the level of detail that went into it is impressive. It comes in 18 colors, and there are virtually no transparency issues.

Whether you regularly use long hairstyles or not, this mod is definitely nice to have on hand when creating characters.

13. Prisma Hair

Sticking with the theme of long hair, we have Prisma Hair, which gives a little love to those who want waves.

This wavy hair mod is long, luscious, and incredibly detailed.

What’s more, you don’t just have to choose a hair color from the original 18 base game colors, and can instead pick from 27, including fun fusions like blue and black or brown and blonde.

This is one seriously cute hairstyle that Sims 4 definitely benefits from.

12. Hysteria

This unique hairstyle looks like it could have come from Cyberpunk 2077 with its faded undercut and very long side-swept top.

Hysteria is available in the base Sims 4 colors, but it comes with its own custom shadow maps, and it is base game compatible and useable with hats.

If you want to create a seriously attractive male sim, you’re going to want to have this hairstyle handy.

11. High Life Hair

High Life is a medium-length hair mod and it gives sims a seriously stylish look.

Available in 27 colors, this hairstyle is both funky and cute, making it suitable for a wide variety of characters.

We could definitely see a rebellious teen Sim rocking this style but in some unnatural hair colors like yellow or purple.

This is certainly a highly versatile style and one you shouldn’t miss out on.

10. Wavves

Wavy hair isn’t just for the ladies, and this CC hair mod gives male sims the option to sport some stylish waves too!

Like many other male styles on our list, the sides of this style are short, but the top is longer and a bit messy with tousled waves that make it immediately stand out.

Available in the standard Sims 4 hair colors, this mod comes with an incredible level of detail, and running your graphics at the highest setting is encouraged.

9. Darko

Darko is another modern faded undercut style that’s so sleek it looks like it could belong in Need for Speed Heat. Best of all, it’s available for both male and female sims!

With its buzzed sides and long swooping top, this style looks absolutely gorgeous on any sim you put it on, and the textures are so detailed you’ll wonder how you’ve played without it for so long!

8. Perfect Illusion

This is another ponytail hairstyle mod, but it used Lady Gaga as a reference, so you know it’s got to be good.

Although a similar style is available in the base Sims 4 game, this version is much more detailed and comes with its own shadow map that makes it feel much more natural.

The great thing about this style is that it could pass for both casual or classy, so you really can use it with a lot of different outfits!

7. Blackout

Contrary to what some people may think, man buns have never gone out of style and, frankly, we don’t want them to.

The hair mod adds a messy man bun option to Sims 4, and it’s every bit as stylish as we could have hoped.

This messy bun is available in 18 colors, and it is the perfect casual or workout hairstyle for sims who just want to keep their long locks out of their faces.

If you have the Sims 4 City Living expansion pack, you can even use this hairstyle to live out your fantasies of being a true coffee shop hipster. Just make sure you have a bicycle handy and some vintage LPs.

6. Parallel Hair

Why more braided styles weren’t in the base Sims 4 game, we may never know. Fortunately, this mod gives female sims the ability to live out their Pippi Longstocking dreams in a more elegant and mature way.

These long twin braids can be used by Sims of all ages, and they are even compatible with hats. You can also choose from a variety of custom hair colors ranging from natural colors to electric green and bright blue.

While braids like this may not be everyone’s cup of tea, we certainly love them, and we bet you will too.

5. Electric

This mod gives you the perfect hairstyle for any stylish businessman, though Sims of all backgrounds can benefit from this gorgeous option. Honestly, it kind of gives us Felix Millstone vibes from The Outer Worlds.

A bit curly, slightly tousled, and completely fashionable, this hairstyle comes in loads of different colors, and can even be worn with hats for when your sim just wants to go incognito.

Sims 4 sorely needs better male hairstyles, and you can’t go wrong with electric.

4. Envy Hair

Envy is the ultimate classy updo for the high-class ladies of Sims 4. This sleek bun is so well designed, and the tiny strands of hair that frame the face just give it so much more life.

This mod has absolutely no transparency issues, and it is miraculously compatible with hats, though you probably won’t want to cover it up.

It is, by far, one of the closest to real-life hairstyles on our list, and we couldn’t imagine not having it as an option in the character creator.

3. Nightcrawler Hair

Nightcrawler hair is one of the most versatile styles you can download for a female character, and it is the perfect hair for businesswomen and housewives alike.

This chic, medium-length hairstyle comes in 24 colors with custom shadows and a brand new mesh. There are very few transparency issues, and it works exceptionally well with hats.

If you have ever wished that there were better-looking shoulder-length hairstyles in Sims 4, this is one mod that you’re definitely going to love.

2. Psycho

Don’t let the name put you off, this is one of the coolest hairstyle mods you can download for a male character.

This messy short hair option comes with a custom beanie which you can change the color of in the hats tab, though they do come preset in colors to match the hair swatches.

It is base game compatible with no transparency issues, and available in the original 18 colors.

This hairstyle is really the perfect all-around option for Sims of any age or background. You really just can’t go wrong with it!

1. Eden Hair

Taking our number one spot is a fabulously long hairstyle that makes characters look like they could pass for the goddess Minerva from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, or better yet, the goddess of love, Aphrodite.

This hairstyle is extremely long and reaches down to the characters’ waists. Lengths like this just weren’t available in the base Sims 4, which was a real shame, but thankfully we have the option now!

Eden hair comes in 18 colors, and while there is a slight transparency issue where it comes over the shoulder, it is hardly noticeable most times. Plus, this hair is so gorgeous you’ll have a hard time doing anything but admiring it.

Sims 4 has a lot of great character creation tools that allow you to create some pretty awesome characters. The problem is many of the hair options look waxy, plastic, and dimensionless.

That is where these incredible hair mods come into play, and if you haven’t ventured into the world of CC hair mods yet, we couldn’t recommend these 25 more highly.
