If you want to advance your woodcutting level, these are the spots you’ll want to head to.

Each of these mahogany tree locations has been chosen based on the number of trees they produce and their ease of access.

So, get ready to grab your axe because here’s our list of the 7 best Mahogany tree spots in OSRS: 

7. Ape Atoll

First on our list, we have Ape Atoll, an island that lies in the south of Gielinor that is entirely populated with monkeys.

This island is only accessible to players who have either partially or completely finished the Monkey Madness I quest.

This is a master-level quest that can be started by speaking with King Narnode, located in the Grand Tree.

Once this quest is complete and you have access to Ape Atoll, you will find that it is a solid supply of hardwood trees.

While there are teak trees to the southeast of the island, right outside of the main gate are three mahogany trees.

These trees are also fairly close to the Ape Atoll teleport location, making it relatively easy to get to them.

It should also be noted that players who haven’t taken the form of a monkey with a greegree should watch out for aggressive monsters.

Without using a greegree here, almost every monster on the atoll will be highly aggressive, which can interrupt tree cutting.

However, once you complete the Monkey Madness II quest, chopping mahogany trees here can become a bit easier.

This is because you will receive the royal seed pod enabling you to take the gnome glider from the Gnome Tree Stronghold to the atoll without needing a greegree.

Unfortunately, Monkey Madness II is a grandmaster-level, very long quest, so if you’re in a rush, this may not be the best solution.

That said, if you’re able to unlock Ape Atoll, it is definitely worth it for the double mahogany trees you can find here.

6. Mos Le’Harmless Islands

The Mos Le’Harmless Islands are run by pirates and can be visited after completing the Cabin Fever quest.

This quest is the second in the Pirate quest series, but it is relatively short and easy to complete.

While this island is mostly known for the Trouble Brewing minigame and the Mos Le’Harmless caves, there are a few mahogany trees here.

To access the two mahogany trees on this island, you will have to venture through the Mos Le’Harmless Cave.

You will then be able to find the trees right at the exit, near two additional teak trees, which you can chop as well.

However, this cave, also known as the Cave of Horrors, is populated with level 80 Cave Horrors.

These require a witchwood icon and a level 58 slayer skill in order to fight, making them difficult for lower-level players.

There are also aggressive level 52 Albino Bats here, though these can be ignored for the most part, despite their aggression.

You will also need a light source to navigate through the cave unless you light Fire of Eternal Light.

That said, if you do venture through here, it is worth taking some of the best foods for healing in OSRS just to be safe.

Although these mahogany trees are a bit out of the way, they can provide a good number of logs, making them worth collecting.

5. Kharazi Jungle

Next up, we have the mahogany trees in the Kharazi Jungle, an area south of Shilo Village on Karamja.

This location is where the majority of the Legends’ Quest takes place, and you will need to start it in order to gain access.

To start this quest, all you need to do is speak with the guards outside of the Legends’ Guild, south of Seers’ Village.

While the quest itself is very long and can take several hours to complete, all you need to do is start it in order to enter the jungle.

Once you have entered the Kharazi Jungle, you will find three mahogany trees, as well as five teak trees.

The abundance of these hardwood trees has made this location popular with those training in both woodcutting and firemaking.

Meanwhile, chopping them down offers 125 woodcutting experience, making them one of the best for leveling both skills.

If you want to use the mahogany trees you chop down for firemaking, be sure to bring a tinderbox along with you.

There is plenty of open ground here, so you can easily build fires immediately after obtaining logs.

However, we should also note that the aggressive Kharazi Tribe occupies the Jungle, as well as a number of hostile creatures.

It’s recommended to bring along some of the best melee armor in OSRS if you can, just to ensure you can remain safe.

4. Kebos Lowlands

The Kebos Lowlands are up next, and the mahogany trees located here can be found just north of the Farming Guild.

Here you will find another two trees that you can chop down for experience and resources.

If you want to bank the mahogany logs you earn, you can use the bank inside of the Farming Guild if you have it unlocked.

The Farming Guild is one of the best guilds to unlock first in OSRS, and it can definitely help with woodcutting.

In order to unlock this members-only guild, you will need to have 60% Hosidius favor.

This can be earned by helping with food production and preparing food for the local soldiers.

It is worth noting that 75% Hosidius favor is needed to gain access to the Woodcutting Guild as well.

So, if you are really focused on getting your level up in this skill, this favor is worth earning overall.

Once you have gained access to the Farming Guild, you will be able to easily bank any logs you’ve collected in the surrounding area.

Additionally, this guild also contains the Seed Vault, which can help you free up bank space and access your seeds quickly.

If you are planning on growing your own mahogany trees, the Seed Vault can be an excellent resource to have.

Although this isn’t the largest collection of mahogany trees in OSRS, it is a solid location that is close to a bank.

3. Fossil Island

Fossil Island is a members-only location that is located northeast of Morytania, and it is an extremely unique environment.

While there are seven smaller islands surrounding the main one, the area we are interested in is located on the northwest portion.

Known as the Mushroom Forest, this location is known for its particularly large mushrooms, which give it its name.

It is also prone to frame rate drops for players using low-performance devices, though zooming in can mitigate this.

However, what makes this area stand out the most is the hardwood tree farming patches that can be found in the southeast corner.

These patches can only be used to grow teak and mahogany trees, and there are three in total.

In order to use these patches to grow your own personal trees, you will need seeds and an empty plant pot.

This pot can be used on any empty patch and filled with soil. You can then plant a single tree there using a trowel and a watering can.

One of the best things about the Fossil Island mahogany tree patches is that you can pay the squirrels to look after them for you.

All you need is 25 yanillian hops, and they will look after any mahogany trees that you plant in that area.

Using these squirrels can help reduce disease risk, making it more likely you will grow a healthy tree to chop down.

Once you chop down a tree, you can then remove the roots and restart the process again by planting a new one.

2. Prifddinas

Prifddinas is our number two pick, and it is here you can find two mahogany trees located in the Crwys District.

However, in order to get to this Elven capital city, you will first have to complete the quest Song of the Elves.

This is the final quest in the Elf quest series, and it can be started by speaking with Edmond in his home in East Ardougne.

Unfortunately, Song of the Elves is a grandmaster-level quest, and it is very long, taking a couple of hours to complete.

You will also need to complete all of the prerequisite quests before it will even become available.

That said, once you have unlocked Prifddinas, you will be able to access these two mahogany trees for easy XP.

If you are leveling farming alongside woodcutting, there are also two allotment patches near the trees you can use.

What’s more, is that this city also has a sawmill near the mahogany trees, so you can easily turn logs into planks.

These can then be sold on the Grand Exchange, used to increase your construction skill, or banked for later.

Although the bank isn’t extremely close to the mahogany trees, it can be found in the Cadarn District to the south.

This fenced-in location, situated northeast of Tai Bwo Wannai, is the most concentrated collection of hardwood trees in the game.

Hardwood Grove has easily become one of the most popular locations for training in both woodcutting and construction.

However, you must first complete the Jungle Potion quest and play the Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup minigame to gain access.

The Jungle Potion quest is very short, and it only requires gathering a handful of herbs around the village.

Meanwhile, the minigame centers around contributing to various tasks around the village, and it is overall very easy.

It will also provide you with trading sticks which you will need to give to Murcaily to access the grove.

In total, you will need 100 trading sticks to gain access, though completing elite tasks in the Karamja Diary will waive this fee.

The Hardwood Grove itself has four mahogany trees and nine teak trees, each of which will provide a load of woodcutting XP.

Some players will even rain their firemaking skill here, as there is no time limit inside, allowing them to cut and burn logs easily.
